The Amish are a religious and ethnic group, descended from German and Swiss immigrants predominantly German-speaking, living in 22 settlements in the U.S. (primarily in Ohio and Pennsylvania) and Canada (in Ontario). They live isolated from the outside world, defends pacifism, simple living and severely restrict the use of modern technology. They wear black clothes. Men use black hats and women use white coping in their heads.
For men the most important things are taking a bible and having a really big bear.
They work all the sunlight day everyday and also the weekends making things that are necessary for them like building a house for a new member of the community that maybe have got married, they make that all together helping each other.
They live in farms and they work profiting from their lands. They cultivate the land and they eat with the food that they get on it. Also they care their own cattle getting some products of the livestock like eggs, milk and so on.
They try to follow the lifestyle of the bible having the same way of live of that age.
They live in USA but they speak Pennsylvania German to communicate between them and using English to communicate with the rest of the world.
They have really hard rules for their way of live based on their literal and smart interpretation of the New Testament and have to be carried out for everyone.

The Amish are people with chin, they live in Lancaster and they wear black and white clothes, they get up at 4:30 a.m. They hate the new technologies and the luxury and so they work in the field, they plow, they milk the cows, they feed the chickens…Other of their jobs is to sell quilts the cheapest.
With the cows’ milk, they make butter and with the grain, wich they harvest, they knead the bread. They live like Robinson Crusoe.
They live by the Holy Bible’s rules, they can’t do bad actions and if somebody kicks them, they will put the other part of their face.
All of them are crazy, they never break the rules.
With this video we can understand how is Amish paradise life. Then man told us with this song which are they customs and what they are use to do there. We can see how Amish paradise looks like and also realize it is too different from our neighborhoods. It is a green valley, full of cows, chickens, vegetations, birds... They are use to do natural works, as milking, gather grain, built by themselves.. everything without modern technics. It is also strange they are dressed with black clothes, and wearing hat. They say they don´t need electricity, phones or cars, they can survive with the things they have. The attitude of the protagonist seems to be very positive because he tries to be patient although he is attacked (with the boy, the tourists...), he prefers not to fight with anyone. Amish paradise is as a hippy place, where peace and rest are important for them, nothing disturb their relax. Anyway they work hard during the day, to can do all the things they need. To conclude, We can say with this video we realize that nowadays is also possible to live without all the new technologies, although they make our lives easier.

Men must wear a colored shirt, dark trousers, black socks and shoes, and a cool hat. They haven't mustaches, but married men have got beard on their chin. Women and girls wear modest dresses. They never cut their hair, which they wear in a bun on the back of the head. Married women wear a black bonnet on their head and single women wear a white one.
The refuse to be photographed because the Bible forbid it. They ride in a horse and buggy. Riding in a car is against the Amish religion. They live in the kitchen.
They don't figt. If nobody punch them, they turn the other cheek. The men never wear buttons. They are technologically impaired. They aren't phone, lights, motorcar. There isn't a single luxury. There isn't cops or traffics lights. Having electricity would violate instruction given to the Bible that they always have on.
They live like that because they want to scorer points for the afterlife and this life give them a big happiness. Their clothes encourage humility and separation from the world

The Amir are a cultural and ethnic group tightly bound and they´re descendant of inmigrants from switzerland that speaking german. They like pacifism and they believe only in the New Testament.Everyone speaks in his house a special dialect german called "deitsch" although swiss amish speak a german dialect that they called "Swiss".
His clothing is same to the XVII and XVIII century. They can´t wear buttons in the clothes, only can to wear hooks and eyelets for to wear the clothes to closed.
They can´t to use the electricity but in some cases they can use and they can´t use the mobiles phones or TV.
They practice the no-resistence and they haven´t any military service.

The Amish are a group of very religious people. These people are all over the U.S.A. more specifically in Lancastel (Philadelphia). Their way of life is very different to ours but they go back. The Amish do not have any type of electronic device including: a mobile phone, a television, a radio, a computer. There are some families who have a telephone but far from the house and do not often use a lot. There are towns where these people live that are limited to electricity. The Amish do not have cars because they do not carry the carriages. Another of the many differences is their clothing. The men wear trousers and dark jacket, white shirt and a hat too dark. The women wear a dark skirt, apron and a white shirt and finally put a black cap. This group of people descended from Swiss roots and speak the German language but at school they are taught the English language. the Amish want to live so they do not want in the future evolution like their old lifestyle and easily without any type of technology but we do not understand. Their lives are quiet because they do not go looking for any kind of fighting. What they want is to have children and care for and raise a family and be happy.

ResponderEliminarAmish people lives in our world but they want to believe than they are in XVIII century with a Christian and old life. They can live how they want but well… by religion they can’t live with some technology of nowadays for example mobile phone, cars, computers…neither they can permit than someone will do photography’s or pictures. In general, Amish people have a far life where they have their job and their world than they don’t change for nothing. Amish woman are faithful to her love and they can have more of seven or eight baby’s, their married for her is beautiful because they can’t work out of house, they only buy in the market place, look after to their children and their home, they clean and they have ready the meals whenever their husband arrived to sweet home. Amish man are free in all, they work in their farm where grow what they want or can. After they worked, they will go to drink something liquor with some friend and at the night go back to the home to rest with their family. Really, Amish people have a harsh life which nobody can understand and less a modern person but they love that life so we should be agreeing with their decision.
To sum up, our life compared with the Amish life is very different but we’re happy with our style and we should accept us, I don’t know other thing than to tell.

They do not care what others might think they are well and that life seems to matter little to them, the other life for them is important.
In this paradise there aren’t policemen, traffic lights and rules.

I have watched a TV program dealing about this people (Mennonites), whose life conditions are similar to amish way of life. In this TV program, called “21 days”, a reporter, who was a young woman, lived for twenty one days with this people, sharing and filming their lives. They live in the past, their clothes seem to be from centuries ago. They live as if time had stopped long time ago. They don´t use electricity. Of course, they haven´t television, radio, refrigerator, washing machine, etc. I mean that they haven´t any electric device at all, because they haven´t electric power. Women has many children, ten, eleven, or even more -whatever God want-. In this group, who lived in Mexico, there was only one teacher for all the children (older and younger), and they only studied Religion (of course), reading, writing and some maths, and no more, because they avoid almost any contact with the outside; in fact, only one or two people speak the outside language (in this case, Spanish), an the rest of them only speak and old german language. They live from agriculture and cattle farming. They hardly leave the community, only to change their products for others that they can not produce, so they go to a near village market. The reporter said that it was very hard to live like them, and I agree with her.

The Amish are a very religious people, they are a type of christians who have very special life habits, those life habits are different depending of the comunity where you live, the biggest community is in Ohio, they are descendants of Swiss and Dutch and they speak at home a lenguage derived from German called Pensylvanian Dutch.

They don´t use motor vehicles and move in carriages where they also transport goods. All things are made by themsel because they don´t buy things manufactured with technology or things that are the result of progress. That's why they dress that way. The houses, tools, roads, villages ... everything is built without technology, but the traditional way. They work in the fields and farms wich provide them the food they need. They don´t have phones, no motorbikes, no cinemas or Play Station, and they are happy and don´t miss anything that much. It is a philosophy of life based on contact with nature and manual labor. Time,therefore, passes much more slowly and it allows them to focuse more on human relationships.They are also a very religious people trying to live according to the Bible. So they live with God on their activities very much and are very helpful people who live helping each other. Nobody really knew anything about the Amish. Actually we didn´t know they existed because they form a small minority communities of the United States. Was the movie "The Witness" played by Harrison Ford that show as their existence. It´s a very good movie.

this has some advantages i think,fisrt they need very little money to live,they also are very supportive to each other and always are ready to help each other.however the disadvantages are many in my opinion, their life is very unatural and perhaps when they have rally big problems for example medical, they can't get the same care;as we can. but to sum this up i think that this way of life perhaps is better than modern life nowadays with all the vilence,problems, crisis, recesions that we have,our materialistic ideas are perhaps too extrem.

The Amish are a culture in which they live in rustic places, places in the field and away from large cities, do not use any current technology, only the old ways to survive. They don’t have any new technologic like computers, mobile phones, iPods, tv, microwave, oven, car, , they can’t go to the cinema, but they live surrounded by animals and nature. They give up electricity and appliances, but can be cooked in a wood oven or grilled. In my opinion, I do not know what is best. Also waive the current transport, using horse-drawn carriages. Their lifestyle is very different from ours. They are characterized by a simple life. They dress in dark colors like black, but also they use the mark. They usually get up at 4:30 pm, they are very early risers. Amish do not like new technologies, they prefer to plow the fields, milk cows, wash hand ... They are known for selling cheap quilts. With the land they plow their crops gathered and produced food. Like when milked the cows make their own milk. The way to shower is very rudimentary, and they do not have water pipes. They wear dark clothes, and women have to wear long dresses, they cant cut their hear or dye it, men are not allowed to shave beard but they cant have moustache. Almish funeral are not striking, they dont use flowers or other kind of decoration, women are buried with their wedding dresses. 16 year teenagers are allowed to go out with friends, drink alcohol, wear jeans... just until their baptisms, so they will can reject the modern life knowing what are they doing. Almish men are farmer and women are housewives.
People are not agree with their kind of life, but well, they have their own lifestyle, we have to respect them and understand they dont want to life in the moder world.
