Everyone of us, who is from Seville, who has gone to the Feria since we have been born, and many more people, are looking forward to going to la Feria one more year, I really don´t know what is the main feature to make it such desirable experience. It may because you just go there and you know you are going to meet family and friends in an enjoyable atmosphere. You know you are either going to sing or dance, eat and drink, ride a horse or in a carriage, enjoy a roller coaster or something like that, or just simply sit down in your caseta or a friend´s or a reltive´s and watch...The show is great! Music, wonderful horses, superb flamenco gowns and suits, rich wines and delicious meals, but it only lasts 6 days...We have to make the most of it before watching the fireworks which announce the end of the Feria.
The exercise for this post is either writing 200 words telling me what you do in Feria, or send a photo to p_vallejo@preuniversitaria.com

  1. The April Seville Fair is one of Spain´s most famous parties. The fair officially lasts for six days, starting at midnight on Monday when the lighting inauguration “The Alumbrado” and a dinner only for the “caseta´s” members in which they celebrate the beginning of the Fair “The Pescaito”. On daytime, one of the most beautiful things you can see is the midday parade of carriages and riders. Most of them usually carry people to the bullring “La Maestranza”. On night-time when the sun goes down the real party starts as all. I love so much this week, because I like everything about the Flamenco culture, I dance “Sevillanas” and “rumbas”. I really like the amusement park called “The Hell Street” with a lot of cool attractions. I usually meet one day with my family to have a lunch in my “caseta”. We used to eat fried fish, tortilla, cheese, ham, prawns…and we drink “rebujito”and long drinks. But above all I meet with my friends to go from a marquee tent to another, seeing people who you don´t know about their for years. On Sunday I go at midnight to the fair and I see with my friends in the sky many fireworks.

  2. At the show I think it's doing the same thing, I consider myself to be a person that Seville has nothing to do with the festivities produced here in fair I do not usually go to the booths or attractions, is not usually more down to Seville, it is true that it may be very boring and you should go, but it's something that catches my eye and also the times I've come to be seen not only to illiterates who can neither speak and what All they do is drink, eat, and go on horseback to boast of their ignorance. But clearly not all people are what we call the "Señoritos andaluces". As far as I usually go on show elsewhere such as the beach, or try to move away from Seville for not being home all day not wanting to shut down the show, however, it is true that I have lost this fair and I've had not so bad, the only problem is that being the same thing becomes boring but hey everyone has their opinion. But I hope that all the people like the fair, they have had a good holydays and a good parties in this wonderful week

  3. “Feria” is the best week of the year. Every Sevillian is looking forward it. It is time to meet people out of the routine of school, job… You can dance, drink, eat and get fun during all the week. It is a long party.
As everyone, I like “Feria” a lot, because you can relax and the enjoyment is secured. For girls is a special occasion to wear “flamenca´s” dresses which you can only wear then. In la “Feria” everybody is happy and having fun. I like dancing with friends, listening to new songs and the traditional songs that I have ever listened since I was three years old, eating “pescaito” and drinking “rebujito” because is the only time I’m going to drink it in all the year.
When I was younger I used to go to the “cacharritos” or Hell´s Street. There you can find roller coasters, stands of games, stands with presents… Now, I also like going there but I prefer to stay at the “caseta”.
To sum up, I understand that foreign people or people from other places like Madrid or Barcelonan don´t like the feria because Sevilian people have lived it since they were very young and it is a unique party. Otherwise, most people like “Feria”.

In my house every day has been a group to sing and acclimate the dugout. all people are encouraged and always had many people on stage dancing and singing. After this week it studying again as this week's exams, we can only wait another year to come back this week.

  5. It´s a bit weird to say but I don´t like so much la Feria because i see it like a lot of people drinking, getting stoned and misspending money like if there were no tomorrow. Obviously I like parties, but perhaps I need more reasons to go to them than ``It´s La Feria let´s go to the party´´ and less if I know that if you want to get fun there you´ll have to waste so much money, money that then everybody complains that don´t have for another needs.
So this year, in Feria time I have spent my free time having fun with my friends but in a healthier way, i went riding on my bike and I´ve been studying to keep my studying habits.

  6. Every year I look forward the arrival of the Seville fair. Almost every year I usually attend fair always on Monday to inaugurate it. Although I have not shed going to my uncles who is as if out of mia. On Monday I am there at the fair up to in the morning. Although some years like this for example I not I stay up so late because the next day I have school. The rest of days go to the fair with my friends who invite me to their houses. There we spent all day very well drinking and eating, even dancing. Although I also accompany my cousins to the "cacharritos".
The first days of the fair usually go every day but it depends on if I have to study or not.
Normally the last days as Saturday and Sunday if the weather is good I'm going to the beach with my family or my friends, but because I still visiting the fair.

  7. Seville Fair is very special and I even dare to say that the best show of Spain. It starts on Monday "of pescaito" and ends with fireworks on Sunday. The fairgrounds has two parts, the one of the booths, and Elm Street, which is the best part of the fair for young children, and not so young ... The area of the houses are distributed in streets, people whose names are famous in the city. At the fair you can enjoy with your friends in the stands, drinking, eating, singing and dancing. It is typical for the "rebujito" which is a mixture of chamomile with sprite. When people who are not of Seville, come to the show, are completely in love with her, for girls Seville and all the charm that surrounds it. In the morning until 20.00 by real riders walk caballo.Las fair women usually go dressed in flamenco and jacketed gentlemen. In conclusion, if you have not been to the fair in Seville ever, next year you have an invitation to "Juan Belmonte 123". Greetings.

  8. In feria I always do a travel with my parents , I don´t no why but in holidays y prefer leave and currently I prefer disconnecting to stay in seville with all the people, I prefer relax or learn things during my holidays. This travel was 1 weeks trip around China. I have visited Beijing, Ningbo, and Shanghai, and also I have made a 1days cruise through the Yangtze river. It has been amazing. I have enjoyed the olympic atmosphere, beautiful landscapes, chinese architechture and, specially, chinese people. They are really friendly. Communication has been difficult (I can´t speak chinese and most of the people can´t english) but we could finally understand each other thanks a mandarine-english dictionary (really useful!), using our patience and making cartoons (it was like playing pictionary!).
This trip has allowed me to know such a different culture, to understand many of their costums and to open my mind. These are some of the reasons that make travelling a good choice for holidays, in my opinion.

In feria there are a lot of things to do.It is the most important festival in Seville and we have people from all around the world that come to enjoy these week.
Firstly in feria you wear different clothes in comparison to the rest of the year.Female wears flamenca´s dress and a flower on your hair.Man used to go with a jacket and a shirt inside.Boys and girls also ride a horse.
Secondly,in the feria, you can eat, meet your friends, dance sevillanas and rumbas, and you can also drink alcohol, like "rebujito" a very typical drink during this week.
you also have a small funfair park where you can enjoy with younger people.
In conclusion It is the best festival that you can have, people enjoy a lot and used to lose their mind during that party. For everybody It is very difficult go back to work or study after it,because is the most enjoyable time in the year.

  10. Well ,It is true that I wasnt born here in Seville and is the first year that I'm here in the feria, in my first time I am very amazing about the lot of people that there were on the feria, is incredible how people from all parts of Spain came to the fair including madrid people that me and my family we know like friends or our last neighbours, I dont know why this show has a lot of expectation, maybe it's the city, the people, also because you can eat and drink a lot, maybe because you can see horse carts on the streets, the women dressed in flamenco... I think is great.
I stayed in the fair few days because I wanted to see how it was and because it was my first time that I was, also I wanted to check that the feria of sevilla was as good as the people said and yes it was great, I was really surprised seeing so many Casetas that left me impressed because in other ferias where I was, there were only 100 or 200 casetas and in the fair of Sevilla my mother said me that there could be 1000 casetas more less. Also surprised me how many women dressed in flamenco, but I dont like the weather i think it was too warm, too hot in my opinion.
I also take this holiday week to go to madrid ,I usually do that when I have vacation, to see my father and also see my friends and have a good time.

  11. Two weeks ago it was Feria. I had such a great time and I’m really looking forwards next year’s so I can dance, sing, horse ride with friends and family in such atmosphere all over again.
My Feria starts on Monday noon. It’s ‘El Pescaito’ that it’s like the official start of the Feria even though many people started drinking and going there on Sunday. This day, you dinner with your family in your caseta – normally fried fish – and later meet with friends and visit each others casetas.
The rest of the days, during the day, I normally take my horse in the Feria with me so I can ride it and maybe get some girls I like to ride with me. The problem is that I have to share my horse with my brother Ignacio so I can’t ride as many days as I’d like to.
During the night hours, we first have dinner in some friend’s caseta and maybe drink something before going to someone else’s to keep drinking and dancing. When the night is over, on the way home, we can’t miss the ‘churros’ for breakfast.
I’m so sad the Feria is over already since it was great fun but, thank God, la Feria de Jerez is almost here!

This year, I have enjoyed La Feria very much. Most of the time, I visited it at night, and almost always I wore our tipical dress which it is a little uncomfortable but I think it makes any girl more beautiful than she is, so we have to suffer a little in order to look better. Although I don´t dance sevillanas too well, I do my best, and I will try to make it better next year. As many people do, this year, me and my friends have not stayed in only one caseta all the time, but we were going from one to another, so we visited my parents and the rest of my friends´ parents too; of course, when we arrived to each caseta, they invited us, so we ate and drank a lot. I also like going to Infierno´s street to get on the different rides. I enjoy very much getting on the fastest and highest rides, but they are very expensive so I can not ride as much as I would like. This years´s portada has been very beautiful and it represented one of the most visited monuments in Seville, the towers of the Spain’s square, and many people were always around there.

  13. My whole life during the time of the fair I have travelled with my parents thru out Spain.,I remember that when I was 8 years old, we took the Route of the Castles (Castilla Leon and Extremadura), but this year I was one of the happy goers in the fair, due to the fact that my parents not want to travel, Instead they paid to have access to a “Caseta”. On Monday and Tuesday of fair, I happened to stay at the house to be able to free myself from the tasks of studing and homework. When Wednesday came I was finally able to enjoy the fair to the end. This day went with a few wild and crazy friends from Bellavista,Yes, everyone made it back to their houses safely, at least I think so. One interesting and unusual thing that atractted my attention was that“Caseta” of EMASESA they werw using electronic passes to control the going in and out.. On Thursday I got up late and I went to play basketball at a few courts that exist near Bami. And of course after my late siesta I hooked up with other friend to Party at the fair. On Friday I went to the cinema with my Community Gamers´ colleagues to see the movie “Oblivion” and later we headed out to the fair again for “big bottle” party. The following day similar to Wednesday for not saying identically, we went to the fair and stayed in “Casetas” most of the day. Sunday was a day of rest we only waited for the last hour to go to th fair and watch the great firework ending Seville´s fair.

  15. I usually show I ever go to sleep at a friend's house who lives in the remedies as I love the show and I never miss a moment of it, since I live in the center and it takes a while to get to the amount of traffic that occurs at this time because of that people walk instead of going in horse carriages, cars, taxis .... When I was little going to the fair with my parents to get on the gadgets, that was my illusion, but now I almost around the clock for fun with my friends, eat well, drink and dance some of Seville. I with my friends we usually do is go from hut to hut so no friends to toil away in the rebujito money, drinks, food and more .... and then start closing evenings when the booths at 3 morning or so we go to public houses of the people of our age and went to dance and enjoy ourselves and thus also known a lot of people and make new friends. Now when you are tired you finally going to eat hotcakes and your home and that's what I do from Tuesday to Friday normally everyone fair years.

I think that for many people could be a simple week, however, for us is the week, most probably the most important week of the year, women put their typical dress and everyone is happy.
Personally i like to go as many late as possible, cause normally is too hot, so when I arrive, I used to go with my friends from caseta to caseta. Reading this lots of people could think it's not so exciting, but trust me, you have to came.

  17. Seville Fair is the most important in Spain, and for me, and for the vast many of the inhabitants of Seville and even other places most anticipated party of the year. It's a week in which the majority of Seville recionto attending a fair in which you spend the day messing around with friends drinking, cominedo, singing and dancing. It's a fabulous week in which you spend a few moments with fantastic and wonderful people you meet and your family. Instead there are other people who do not like the show, you do not understand at all but I respect, and who prefer to go to spend a week atranquila to the beach or countryside.

  18. The Seville April Fair is one of the greatest traditions sevillanas, and are held in one of the biggest weeks of the year, is held in April, usually at the end of this month, always falls two weeks after Easter. The fair was initially in the meadow, near the center district of Seville, but due to its high growth this space was left guy and it was decided to move the show to Los Remedios, in the great wasteland that separates Tablada Remedies. A few years ago they wanted to move it to El Charco de la Pava, but due to the crisis does not move. Every day of the fair I do the same, I get up in the morning, breakfast, have a shower and get dressed in suit and tie, as in my house and stay with some friends to go to the fair, when we got to the fair let one of our houses to drink and eat something rebujito, later left with more people and go from hut to hut doing the same, at 12 the night started with drinks and we are at the show until 6 or 7 morning time when we return to our home to repeat the same thing the next day.

  19. Seville Fair is the most important in the country and hosts more people in a week full of excitement and music and alcohol. In the morning the show is to be quiet in a booth having lunch with family or friends and enjoy the horses and horse cars that roam the fairgrounds, evening after evening enjoy with friends the magic of the fair, sevillanas dancing and drinking booths "rebujito". The only penalty of the fair is going very fast and we all agree that we need another week to enjoy 100% but hey, so we take her with more desire to the next year. I expect to pass very many fairs with people I love and who are supporting us every day.
Let me not forget that there are others who prefer to go to Seville to the beach and get away from the stress of this week.
The fair also enjoys bullfights in Maestranza that are spectacular.

  20. My 2013's Fair.
I am going to talk about my fair this year. This year I bought a pink and white dress. This holidays for me are the best holidays ever.
I am going to tell you what I think about my holidays. The first day I was drinking and eating with all my friends at my little house, I was all my family members too. We had a lot of fun all together but also missing one of my best friend too because she is studying in another country to learn English. The second day I was in my best friend little house with my cousins, my best friend's boyfriend and my best friend. This day was the best day for me because in this holidays we just have five days and the day that i like the most is Wednesday because the first the people are a little bit lost because it is the first day after a year and you need to find the fun way. On thursday I made a video for my best friend because she was in America for a year and me and my another best friend made a video for her. The last day were not that much fun and i had to study so i did not go for a long time because my mom made me leave earlier.

  21. The fair of Seville is celebrated every year in April. It begins on Monday at 12 p.m. until Sunday at the same hour. This week really is not a holiday in Seville, the workers do not paralyze his activity except that they take them as vacations. The students we have more luck, have school vacations. The this fair in a not excessively big place, but thousands of persons come during every day. The women dress or Fleming's typical suit, some of the dresses that do the most handsome woman. The men dress of elegant form and it is lived by happiness and holiday. Fleming is danced and sings, on all the Sevillian ones, the typical dance of Seville. During the day there are horses and carriages that him give a colouring individual and set to the fair.In the night the place is illuminated and gives him a different, but not less enterteining aspect

The Feria from Seville is for me the best feria over the world because in Seville stay my all friends, my family… very best persons. In the feria I get up late and I call my friends to meet with them and go to the feria.
In feria I go to the stall of my friends, stay in the street or we go to the attractions park, in this area we are very happy and we had fun.
When I have lunch go to a stall eating and drinking with my friends, next we are in the stall talking. Next we go to a other stall to collect other friends and go for walk in the feria, then when in afternoon we go to a stall for prepare to have dinner and if I am humor I will dance a sevillana. At 12 o´clock I meet with my fathers and come back home for go to sleep, rest and tomorrow return to the feria.
In conclusion, the feria is a moment of the year that i like it because is a moment in that I am with my friends and I am very happy and laugh a lot.

The Feria is the second largest city of Seville week. Is simply spectacular, as any Seville moved to a piece of this beautiful city. The only downside is that often very warm but that's a good sign, a sign that it does not rain. But as the night cools as it is a scandal, but whatever it gets hot. The Seville freshens and logically knows how the rebujito, the sacred drink of the Feria is. Do you know how many liters are consumed rebujito but they must be too. A Fair in the evening to go around to get dinner at my house, then stay with my friends and we're going to drink, and drink, but also usually catch some food. So basically the Feria: being with friends, drink and drink and eat. A great week for sure.
