Gap year for grown-ups?

Soon after he turned 50, Mark Perriton realised he needed a change.
“I was pretty miserable,” said the former managing director of an office refurbisher. “I was turning up for work ... not feeling fully engaged ... going through the process of working and living. Eventually I looked in the mirror and said I want to change something.”
That change came in the form of several months off and a nearly round-the-world cycling trip taking in parts of North and South America and South East Asia.
“I have come back and now I am much more enthusiastic and focused than I was before,” Perriton said.
He now works as a consultant in the same industry, making as much money as he did before but working just eight months each year. He uses his free months to pursue his passions, skiing and cycling.
Perriton is just one of many senior executives who take time off work, often to rethink their careers or sometimes simply to recharge their batteries, eschewing the idea that if you’re gone from the game, you’ll quickly be forgotten.
Indeed, career break numbers are rising according to Susan Griffith, author of Gap Years for Grown Ups, partly because “50- and 60-somethings are feeling far more fit and adventurous than in previous generations”, she said.
She predicts that reports of recovering job markets “will inspire more to step off the treadmill” because people will have less fear of joblessness upon their return. Dan Clements, author of Escape 101: The Four Secrets to Taking a Sabbatical or Career Break Without Losing Your Money or Your Mind, agrees.
He said, anecdotally, economic growth is leading to a rise in so-called 'elective sabbaticals' where executives choose to take a step back from their careers – just like Perriton. What’s more, people who are more established in their careers and have risen the ranks in their industry are more likely to have the financial means to take a break, often funding them with savings and investments built up over the course of a successful career.

  1. I am one of those who believe that we must work to live, not live to work. Nowadays people study during a long of time to get a career title and to be able to work in the future. When we get a job, we haven’t got time to care our family or doing things which we have always love. So we have to have more free time because when we can retire of work, we are so old that we can’t do anything.
So if I would have a gap year, it would be one of the best years of my life. I haven’t to spend time doing thing that I don’t really like, as study or doing homework. It is essential to my life but I prefer travel around the world alone to know new people and new manners in a horse. I have always wanted to have a horse however I have never had one. So I spend a lot of time riding in my horse.
However I think that it is impossible, because nowadays it is delaying the retirement age of work instead of anticipating it, so I won’t have some time without work in my live.

  2. I would like to have a sabbatical year because I believe that like that it would rest of so much working. In my sabbatical year it would do all the things that I cannot do for being studying or doing other things. First it would be a few days in house planning what to do all the year round and later I think that it would do the following thing, it would take a big car and it me would go to crossing world, but I would like that it was abroad, in the USA for example. It would cross the whole USA seeing his big cities and beaches , I believe that I take a table of surf and a bicycle to entertain and to play sports myself. Also it would be suitable that some friend was coming with me in order that everything was more entertaining. After the whole year travelling I think that it would recover energy to return to study and to extract the career, in addition it would know English for the complete year in the USA

  3. I can't imagine with a full year to dedicate it to what I want, it would be incredible, not be in that occupy it.
The son of some friends Dutch of my uncle, at the end of the high school was dedicated a year to study violin in Italy and her brother to travel around the world reaching the India and Japan.
In Spain don't have these habits and think that as life would be impossible to make them. It is true that the gap year don't miss it if you can take advantage of it, but usually in Spain at the end of high school is that it passes to the University and finished the degree when you can, look for a job, you get married and have made life without that you've stopped to think, and if the undertaken way is he wanted to take.
Maybe what I would dedicate this gap year would be to travel nor around the world, would Europe trying to visit, if is possible, all countries and these way learn English that I do this so bad.
Anyway the country that most attracts me is France, maybe interest me its history, its cuisine and its landscapes, when I studied French I did was very well, it which is also the only one I know and also Italy although I don't like Italian food but yes its monuments.
Finally as it is impossible that gap year I will not make me more illusions.

  5. I am going to write about what I would do in a gap year, which is a very interesting topic nowadays. I will expose different points of view and my personal opinion.
First I would make an ordered list. I love doing sports, I practice a Korean martial art called Hapkido and am affiliated and on the other hand I individually practice boxing, kick boxing and muay thai. I train also doing physical exercises, swimming, running, etc. I would if I had a gap year I would train all this to the fullest because I love this.

I also read many books because I love reading, especially fantasy books, historical and philosophical. I have many hobbies, such as writing reflections or famous quotes. I love going out with my friends, so I would come out with them a lot, we would go to the center of Seville, the Alameda, Triana, the river and the Bermejales or some good bars as "green dragon" and the legendary bar "Studio 17" which closed.
Finally I would think my studies seriously, to prepare the next year, a gap year is fine but two years is wasting time, but the truth is that I would do many things.

If I had one gap year, I would go to a lot of cities where I have a lot of friends in Spain, I would go to Madrid in Christmas and see my friends, I would go to Valencia in summer and see my friends too. I would meet with my friends almost every day because I need some days for me too. I would go to do skate more time because I always need more time, I like it very much. I would be more time with my family, that it is very important, more than nothing.
But, I think that when I will have a gap year, some days I wouldn´t know what to do.
I would go to the church all Sunday because nowadays I can´t do it and I would go some time to help in a charity association.
I would take advantage of the maximum possible time because the next year all will finish and surely more difficult than never.

  7. One of my biggest dreams is to travel to many different places around the world. The principal is New York, is one of my main destinations but want to visit on Christmas dates because its decoration is incredible, and his wonderful Christmas spirit. Another of my favorite places is Greece and these small towns in white islands on the beach, with a family atmosphere due to the small population of each island. Also Italy, all Italian cities, small puebls, in general all, I love their food and all the talk of Italian men hahaha. India I would like because if it would be quite different from my culture and would have a big contrast in all my customs with them. China for the same reasons, and ALSO to make purchases at lower prices, since much of branded products we buy here in Spain there are fabricaos therefore its value is less. Those are some of my preferences but if tuiese physical time travel the world because I love traveling and shopping !!

  8. I would go to a foreign country to live a new experience, to a big city to see the world and meet many people who can bring good things in my life and truly a year of doing nothing would help me to relax and live without extres sometimes need to disconnect from the studies and responsibilities but I'm a nervous and restless person and certainly not last long without doing anything because I need to be entertained for fun. I would make language courses such as learning English in order to use it in my future studies, I would learn English in a fun way that is not would point me to an academy to learn if talking to many people and meeting new people with whom to share information cultures and experiences. In this case it would be very difficult to know where to go because choosing tengos two great options to a heavenly place to live off relaxing in front of the beach watching the sea and stroll along the beach or a big city where you can learn to live in society and focus my life on other aspects such as walking, buy clothes to go to museums etc
But the truth that what I like about all options would go traveling for a year to many well-known places and both mountain and beach view disferentes landscapes in all seasons, viajer power boat, train, car, plane and discovered world. Whenever the economy allows. But I never go alone because I need to share my experiences with others.

  9. I first thing that it would do in the sabbatical year is to look for a work more or less where he would charge well a few months to do myself with something of money and followed to this `viajar as a madman ' would say it it would be to Africa to help the whole person who does not have anything and to give him everything what I could and this way to distribute something of happiness where she is not .después some exotic place of heat would go the world for example lost beaches, lost peoples. And finally what would stop by the end to remember forever would be to travel a mountain with snow for letter of the day of doing snow what is the aficiónes that more I like them and that lately I am following más.espero that this should be for what you ask and that certainly is not absent any word if it is not like that communicate it to me.

  10. First of all, if I had the possibility of having a gap year, I would like to have it when I had been working for two or three years. Many students decide to have a gap year when they finish the high school because they are not sure what they want to study.
What I would do in a gap year in the case that I had money is travelling all day. I would like to visit Italia, cities such as Rome, Venetia, Milan or Corcega. Then, I would like to cross the Atlantic and visit New York but only a few days because it is a noisy and overcrowded place. After this I would like to visit the Maldives and few place of South America. I cannot forget visiting the Grand Cannon or the places where they make films of the far-west.
After these journeys, I will come back to Spain and try to rest because of the exhaustion of travelling a lot. The rest of the days I would like to stay with my family. Besides I would like to make a big party with lot of people when summer comes.

  11. A gap year either between school or college and higher education or a job, as an element of a degree course or on graduation can offer you an exciting, challenging and valuable opportunity, be it in the UK or overseas. It can and probably will enrich your life forever, aside from broadening your view of the world and those around you providing you plan your gap year programme wisely and carefully consider your longer term goals!

So what you do in your gap year is vital! Whilst the prospect of lounging around at home doing a bit of temporary work, or bumming around the world with a backpack and a few mates, may seem tempting at first glance, in reality it can rapidly end up in disillusionment. Merely clocking up the air miles or devising exotic ways of spending your own or your parents' hard earned cash will do little to convince people of any sustained commitment to your important future goals.

But you can have lots of fun as well as a sense of achievement in this gap year like
-Improve on or learn a new skill on a course in UK or overseas.
    - a cultural exchange.
    -Participate in an expedition.
-Be a volunteer in the UK or overseas.
    - Join a structured work experience opportunity.

First of all, a gap year is a good idea for students who have finished the school and want to have a different experience from their daily routine, besides it helps them to know another languages and other cultures.

Because it is my last course in a school and the next year I am going to start at university I would like to have a gap year in England, there I would try to improve my knowledge in the English language, learn the customs and know the way of life. To begin I would work in a fashion shop in London, where I could practice my English and meet new people. Then I would share a flat with other international students who had the same hobbies than me, we would change customs, thinking and new experiences.

In my opinion, a gap year is necessary for those students who can afford to travel abroad and participate in a special method of studies.

  13. It is so strange if a student have a gap year mainly because they have more responsibilities than an adult, talking about the studies. But supposing I have an entire gap year I would like to dedicate it on hobbies which I can´t do the same time as I was studying. At first I would like to start with small activities like learning how to play the piano because is my favorite musical instrument and I didn’t have any time with the particular classes; my intention is not be the perfect piano player , simply I want to hear that beautiful sound which relax me every time. At the other hand I would like to play paddle again because I didn’t play again since five years because of the work. I used to enjoy it with my friends and I want to keep those memories again. However, before all, one of my dreams is to visit United States, specifically Los Angeles. I heard talk about this city and to be sincere is one of the best places in the world to travel. So, I think if I study and work hardly nowadays I could be nearly to my gap year. I´ll do the best to achieve it.

  15. the first thing I would do would make a great trip to an exotic country to know the customs and lifestyles of the world. A gap year serves to relax and get away from everything to connect with yourself. Very few people make a gap year and you'd have to leave work and perhaps losing your job forever. Following the gap year next thing I would do would follow my football team all cities playing on the weekends, that would be the best of the year and would travel at the same time would see my football team play for all Spanish and European ciudaes uefa europa league in. With the theme of football also would make trips to see the Spanish national soccer team and basketball around the world, with the excuses sports would make trips around the world. The downside of the gap year is that it can only do those people with a lot of money, because as you do not work you do not make money and it takes a lot of money saved to travel and enjoy this year and to use it. Some parents tell their children kidding when they are suspending that seem to be taking a gap year are already doing nothing

Visit all places give metime to look at each site where it is, because to me what I would do is be a week or two in each city you visit, so you can see more places. I would travel in a caravan to stop where I felt like it and devote to visit what interested me.
The rest of the time I would like to live in the countryside, surrounded by plants and tranquility, taking long walks with my dog and enjoying with this kind of life. Also I enjoy going to the marketplace to buy the food. It would be great to be able to plant my garden, to grow my own vegetables, and devote myself to care, pick up and cook them for my family and friends. The only possibility would be if university professor because according to my mother tells me, university professors can take a year to research and write and when this finishes can return to their job without problem. During a sabbatical I'd go to another country, if distant and better beach. Australia could be a good target and I devote to know and relax on the beaches and learn to surf. The surfing is a sport that does not live in a site with sea is more difficult to learn and practice. I also dedicate to know the culture of Australia, particularly Aboriginal and customs and travel around the country, including New Zealand. Would excursions both desert and jungle well known all species of animals and plants that live there so peculiar: kangaroo, alligator, koalas, wallabies, badgers Australian and Tasmanian Devil, the platypus, the dingo.

  27. Taking a gap year has advantages and disadvantages
    Advantages:
-It is a chance to mature before entering university, in secondary school, you probably learned a bit about how to be a good student. On the other hand, you likely learned very little about life experience. Gap years can provide students the chance to learn responsibility on a different level.
-It is an opportunity to regroup; secondary school can be a very stressful time for students. Between preparing for university academically and searching for the right post-secondary institution, many students feel pretty beaten up by the time they graduate. Changing course and doing something besides school for a while can be a much-needed break psychologically.
    Disadvantages:
-Being a year behind; A year off will put you a year behind your friends. A gap year will put you further back on what can be a long educational process.
-Money issues; some gap year experiences don’t require money (like working for a year) or are inexpensive (like teaching abroad for a year). But, others can be quite pricey and can be an added expense to an already costly university education.

Personally, I wouldn’t take a gap year because I think you lose one year of your life, you will have time for relaxing when you finish your career!

On the one hand, would make many trips; including cultural places to learn: Rome, England ... I also would go partying to the best clubs and the best hotels with good beaches (Malaga, Cadiz ...).
The part that illusion would make me go to beaches in Brazil or Africa to do my favorite sport, Kite Surf. I would go with my father, because also practice this sport. All these things would really want, and of course, without studying...

On the other hand, devote time to be with my family, to make plans with them or go to Madrid or Barcelona to see my other family.

Finally, I make plans with my girlfriend, some interesting trip. Also rent a good car to go places without problems.

I think the best option would be find a little job like a waiter, dealing pizzas, helping elderlies etc. And in my free time I would take English classes but above all the things, I think that this period would be a great form of recharge my batteries and have more eager to start my university experience.

  34. What I would do in a gap year? I've thought many times with my friend Irene, we would go to Australia because we love the sun and the beach, we think that being in Australia would serve us to be relaxed and avoid the problems. but I think it would be a long time a year, so I would go to others sites between them would return to Philadelphia because as comment on the blogs of the trip organized by “la preu” was one of the most beautiful trips of my life, I met wonderful people both Spanish and American and I would have liked to spend many more months there, because although they come in bit weeks not come all those who I miss, so I would love to revisit them and there spend a few days and already I'm over there I love to spend time in New York because it could only be a few hours and could see almost nothing and I would like to enjoy it more but I'd also like to spend time with some of my friends and in this case would be some with which I went there. So my answer to that would make in a sabbatical, it would be traveling.

  35. The idea of a sabbatical sounds really good. I would love to spend a sabbatical next year after having spent a year academically difficult and requires effort, so would start college a year later, when I returned from my sabbatical
I would like to go somewhere warm weather, with beach and sun and pleasant temperatures all year round. I think that would be a positive thing for me that was abroad, especially to learn another language, apart from meeting people, new customs...
I think this site you would find in South America, on an island like Hawaii or perhaps in Brazil, would have to investigate about it before making the decision to go anywhere to find out where I am going to spend the next year of my life.
It is also important to focus on an activity, although the sabbatical is to rest from work or studies cannot do anything.
I think I go a year without focusing on anything can be harmful should do something we like, dedicate ourselves to a sport, exercise, reading ... A nice beach in Hawaii would be the perfect for my site to do this!

  36. First it me would extract the titles of one or two languages since I think that they are indispensable for today to find work and to be employed at the more minimal thing that one could work. Also I me would like to extract the season-ticket of ship since I am charmed with the navigation and would take advantage very much of the craft that my father has. I would go away to visiting so many countries since it could, with my friends the entire evenings, it would do the whole sport that I would like to practise, would compete in careers of bicycle, and would prepare to continue for me being formed in the work that a today I have.
However I think that it is impossible, because nowadays, because It might not have a free year since I have two repetitions and might not base me on everything what I have said before, only on the languages. But if it me might extract those titles that I me dream of extracting of cycling.

I would Knew more people, make friends there and stay one year without studies, without teacher but studding English.
I would like to learn to surf and other extreme sport to be an adrenaline junkie.
I would make sports like football and run for improve my performance at the morning when the rest of the people were studding.
However I think I would finish bored because a year is a lot of time free.

Knowing that I'm going to have a gap year, would save much money years before for enjoy. I like very much the beaches with white sand and crystal clear water. I would like to go with good company, my friends, my boyfriend or my family. Us the great happen. It would be fun. Overseas would make many new friends. But also I like to go alone to discover the world of myself. In that year sabbatical also I dedicate to learn the languages that I have regular, such as English, French or German.

One of the first things I would do is make a quick course to learn some language and go to that country to practice. This would take a new language learned and known a country, knowing its people and its culture. This would make me grow as a person and I would be more cultured. It would be a great experience and a very nice thing to do. Another thing I would do would be to get in shape. Join a gym or jogging, this would be very good for my health and make me feel better, leaner and fresher. Register for a football team would also be nice, would exercise and would practice the sport that I like. Having a sabbatical gives you many opportunities and can make you grow as a person in every way. The case is drawing on it and know enjoy. A sabbatical is something we should all have at some time in our lives. With this you'd get all the advantages to life, and only in one year.

  41. Universities want to know in great detail what was done during leisure time . A year full of rich experiences that have expanded the mind can mean being admitted, even for a student who has had poor results at school. In the book Beyond the Ivy League , former college administrator Loren Pope that wanted to impose a one-year job as a requirement for admission , since according to him the experience students are always more mature and are more focused.

Rita Goldman , director of college counseling at Germantown Friends, a school in Philadelphia , agrees with that idea. According to her , often suggests a sabbatical for adolescents who have struggled dramatically over the past four years of college and have taken Advanced Placement Program® also engage with many additional activities to be a good candidate for best universities .

"Many of these students are completely exhausted after finishing school ," says Goldman. "They need to take time to determine who are not all that wrapping. " Generally these students pass the selection process of universities and once accepted delay the entry one year, something that most universities are average.

  42. In a sabbatical year, I would like to go traveling around the world, no rush, no schedules, doing at every moment what prompted my body. Without any kind of organization, just decide at any time to do anything without programming.
For example, one day when I get up at home I feel like I would like to go to New York. I would go to the travel agency and hire the first available flight. Once there, I would look for accommodation in the town. A nice place, for example near Manhattan. Whithout deciding when I will leave. Even if I like the city I would look for a fixed housing and a job as much different as possible to my usual work to get enough money to survive in the city longer. When I get bored of NY, I would decide where to go. For example, if I just want to go to Australia, to dive with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef. Then, look for a course to learn to dive and buy tickets to the new destination. And so, without timetables or schedules normally in everyday life

  43. On a sabbatical year you can do many things. The first thing I would do before finishing in the work is to organize well the whole year, to make sure that I will not be bored because when you are studying or working and you has little time for yourself, thousand of things to do pass by your mind, but then when you're on vacation nothing occur.
The first thing would be to organize a party with my friends to celebrate the beginning of the gap year. A party in a hotel with all my friends, with barbacue, nightlife, tours, a weekend which will not be forgotten.
Once announced my sabbatical year, I would go shopping, my favorite sport, to prepare the luggage and go traveling. First I would go to New York, of course shopping, visit all the city for a reasonable period of time, about 15 days or so and then I would visit other states. I would go to Los Angeles, California, to Washington, etc. Then give a walk around Canada, whose landscapes should be spectacular and I would not return without visiting it. Then go back to see the family and prepare my new journey. I would go to a place of beautiful beaches where doing nothing more than sunbathing, drinking pina coladas and dancing on beach at night.
But I´m not in a sabbatical so I will continue studying

First of all I would go to USA to learn English. New York would be one of my main destinations. I believe that a gap year would be very good and very expensive too, so I would have to save for a long time. My uncle Peter told me that when he was young, he took a gap year, it was the best year of his life. He enjoyed travelling around the US and learnt lot of things. When he returned to Spain had many new experiences and he spoke English very good and now he works in a important company and he is very happy with his experience. Right now, I must study and I don’t think about this subject

Second I would dedicate time to help mi parents in their work and in all they want to do their life less stressful.
Third I would travel for many different countries like amazonas, the caribe, Nueva York, etc of the world to two or three months and I would use the travel to visit some friends and two cousins that one is working in Mexico and the other one is studying in Belgica and I would use to learn different languages too and so the gap year It´s serves to save time.
Fourth I would dedicate a few time to the poor persons putting them food, teaching poor childs some things and If I had plenty of money, I would donate a considerable quantity of money to the ongs.
The last thing I would do is stay more time with my grand-mother because I always think I pass much few time with her and when I want to stay more time with her, it´s going to be late and I don´t want this.

If i had the pleasure of having a gap year i would like to travel around the world. Firstly i would spend one month in Bora Bora, Sunbathing walking in the beach and relaxing on the san. If it is possible I would prefer to stay in one of those luxury hotels near the beach with big swimming pools looking over the sea and complete spa.
Secondly I would like to go to Australia. I’m very interested in Australian animals like the kangaroos and the impressive landscape. I would go to a safari and I would try to know the Australian’s traditions. I would spend there another month.
Finally I would stay 5 months in the USA, 3 months in Europe, 1 month in Japan (because I would rather go to japan than china) and 1 month in Spain visiting the cities in which I have never been, relaxing and meeting new people. I would keep one week to be prepared psychologically to coming back to the daily routine.

On a sabbatical year I would not think in studies I only think make the most. At this time would be resting for when you come back again to studies. I would spend with my friends and my family. I would have time to do all the things I want, also would have to have a good age to enjoy. surely would not give time to do all the things you think you want to do and time would not have enough time to keep doing yours things. After this year would have to be to study hard to get back into shape with the studies and draw a little time to read but I do not like much. This privilege are few people who has can and enjoy.

To work will help to enjoy but a great effort is necessary, it is not easy to obtain a university degree or to find work that then they allow us to enjoy. If it had a sabbatical year it would leave behind the work and the studies and would do what the daily life does not allow us. Also I would be charmed with travelling during an entire year to know quite close conditions, to give the return to this wonderful country, people to know and finally would seat myself in New York and would look for a comfortable work that was helping myself when Englishman learn and to live there through the American life. It would be employed at a central bar with very much environment and gained the sufficient money to rent a floor with a view to the Empire State and to be able to enjoy the sights. After returning of New York I would like to do a trip with my friends to Mallorca, to be able to go away for parties and visit his beaches. Finally I would travel with my family for Europe, to important countries as: Paris, Rome, Prague, London … and to visit this way the most famous and important monuments of the world. It would be the best year of my life with the best persons of my life.

That year include from doing ANYTHING which it is not the recomendable to takng part in an international programme of languaje living the experience of living in other country to improve or simply lear a new languaje.
That is something that i would love to. Taking a gap year to spend a year living in anyplace from Europe such a London. that it would be fantastic! Not only the fact of going to college one year later but having the opportunity of being able to improve my English which is getting worse.
To sum up, having or not a gap year i think is something essential for a student who is going to assit one year later to college for begin it whith a laboral and life experience done

  51. I think that doing a gap year is a good idea since you spend a year resting but at the same time you are learning from the world that surrounds you.
know I will consider the ideas that I have of the things you can do during that year.
You can dedicate a year of missions or vounteering, you can go to poor countries like Africa or India, or else you can stay in your own country and through associations or NGOs that take you to help people that needs cares.
Also you can spend that year learning new languages as for example English which is one of the most required in these times.
You also can dedicate yourself to travel and see the world around your country and so that you meet new people wich who you can establish relationships, and you gain new culture.
There is a proposal very good for countries which is holders which is well known among the young people.
This are some of the things that you can do in a gap year but sometimes there are people who will not take that free year because they does not have the sufficient economic means to do, so that is a problem.
I without a doubt I wiil take this gap year.

  52. Due to the stress of daily life, especially at work, it is increasingly common to take a gap year. Many executives decide to have a gap year, often to rethink their careers or sometimes simply to recharge their batteries. After taking this break, many executives choose to devote less time to working and more to their hobbies, such as sports or travel. It is also important to take advantage of this time of rest to learn and gain experience that can serve your working life once you finish your holiday, as well as know people who can offer in the future a new job. That if you need to have saved some money to deal with the costs and assume the risk of losing your job due to the current economic crisis and job insecurity.

The only possibility would be that the university professor, because according to my mother tells me, academics can take a year to research and write, and when this is over you can return to work without problem. During a sabbatical I would go to another country, if the beach distant and better. Australia could be a good target and I spent learning and relax on the beaches and learn to surf. But also I like to do things like visiting cities such as Rome, Italy, England. Besides visiting cities I would like spend a long time in Badajoz with my family because I see little. Firstly I would like to go to England one year, but work somewhere other than babysitting because I do not like, I think I would come very well and I would serve much spending a year in England or America to learn English, because need that idiom to finish the race you want to do, besides the English language is the most important and in almost every job you ask for it to work, then I think it is essential. A few days ago I talked to my mother about one year leave any country to learn English and I told him that since I lost one year when i was ill and did not want to lose another year, but she replied that sooner or later I will having to lose because I have to learn this idiom, now I think she's right. Furthermore I would like to go one year any country to help people and give them all you can all help me, all my love and all my love, but I think this dream that I have can wait when the race is over, but as I like both do volunteer I already miss several hospitals in slums and even animals. Really if that gap year will help for something I think is not wasting time.

On the other hand, obviuosly you will be more relaxed and if you want you can spend this time in activities such as leraning english or doing sport. Of course, I consider like a disadvantage spent that wonderfull time in watching TV, playing video games and other helpless activities.
To sum up, I think tha taking a gapyear have more disadvantagies than advantages so I think that you have to do thingh on time not waste your time.

But suppose I have a whole year I would like to dedicate it to hobbies that I could do at the same time studying. At the beginning I would like to start with my two great passions that are surfing and snowboarding, always has been what I like in the world but I don't have much time to spend as I would like to, I is that no longer I could devote to it professionally but at least improve my movements to pass it better and gradually improve. On the other hand, I'd like to return to play football because I don't play seriously in a team for five years because of studies. I used to enjoy with my friends and I want to keep those memories again. However, first of all, one of my dreams is to visit United States, specifically California. I've heard about this city and to be honest it is one of the best places in the world to travel. Then, I think that if I study and work today could come to succeed.

  64. You can have two types of sabbatical year:
When you have money, I then devoted to travel around the world, as it is something I love, take advantage to know cultures, people, customs, languages, etc.
In the other case, there is an option that really catches my attention, which is to go to London or somewhere where English is spoken and get to work there so would force me to learn the language. The bad of that sabbatical year, is the emotional exhaustion; when you travel and do not stop and forth, do not have time to think if you're away from your family, but when you lead a life as normal, but with a language changed and away from your family and friends, I think it ends a little tired.
The other option is to stay at Seville, and here, I would target English classes, perhaps, would go some quick modules to learn more things ... but if I stay here, of course attend almost every party that I could.
The first option is the one that catches my attention, the second would be the most productive and a great experience, both occupationally and personnel, and the last the most feasible.

Right now, the free time we have to do the activities we like is really short. With a free year I would be really happy. I would play football or go to the gym everyday because I consider physical activity is very important but during the academic year we don’t do much sport. Also I would meet friends more often and do together the things that we like. For example, going out to dance or just taking a walk around the city or have an ice-cream… I would enjoy more everything because I would not feel the pressure that I am losing my time or because there are something else more urgent to do. I consider everybody should have a gap year and it is beneficial for them. When they go back to work, they will feel more energetic and powerful for the fast rhythm of life.

Its sound crazy but I love the idea of meet different countries, different people and different cultures and see where a fit better. I am totally sure that I am not going to do a gap year because I have to start university as soon as possible but I am also sure that I live once and my purpose is to follow all my dreams so after my first year of work I truly believe about spending my summer on road.

The second would travel from June through December, it would be on several cruises and also going to a deserted island where I am alone with all kinds of luxuries. While I am in Sevilla I would go all holidays. On these trips known worldwide. Sevilla would later also in the months of Christmas to be with family, the big week of Seville and of the fair. While travel would try to learn English and practice when it comes to finding a job more easily because now all work you are asked to know English. What would be bad would be only because the others would not have that sabbatical. While here in Seville also I try to work to finance my travels. In the deserted island try to build my own mansion and have all the luxuries for when you vacation in a normal year you go there with all my family and friends to enjoy it in the company and not just in the sabbatical. I would go shark hunting and hiking. It would be one of the best years of my life.
