Should tourists be banned from Antarctica?

This season around 37,000 tourists are expected to visit Antarctica - home to about 20 million pairs of breeding penguins. But is it ethically acceptable to go on holiday to such a pristine environment?
Enfolded in two glacial arms the bay before us sparkles ultramarine, the water flecked with ice-lilies and dotted with bits of floating icebergs.
A sheer cliff towers dark above us, flanked by snow slopes as pure white as the glistening fronts of the little Adelie penguins whose spectacled eyes peer curiously around as they waddle and toboggan about their business just a few feet away.
This is Brown Bluff on the Antarctic Peninsula and togged up in layer upon layer of fleece, topped with vivid red wetskins I am all too aware that this is not my habitat.
Which begs the question: Should I be here? Am I, just by setting foot on this extraordinary continent, disturbing a pristine environment and polluting the last great wilderness on earth?

  1. I totally disagree with those trips that we humans do, and fortunately the earth is very beautiful places that you can visit instead of visiting the land where you said this story that millions of penguins and animals live. Therefore I would end up with all these trips and allA the experiments done that because of these many animals are losing their lives for the cause that they are losing their homes because of global warming. I hope this is what you ordered and that no words are missing.

  2. I think that people shouldn´t go to this place and less to destroyed this with pollute and throw rubbish and all this things.
This animals must to stay in a natural and good spaces because if we destroyed them home maybe they dissapeare because this animals need a special area to stay and it´s important that no more animals disapeare because many animals, in the past, dissapeare because people don´t do the things good and in the present is important to do well this things and preserve this because is important to the world and the ecosistem.
In the past, for example, the dinosaurs dissapeare but people and book say that this aren´t happend because people do the things bad, they say that this is because a meteorite but the mamut dissapeared because people destroyed them habitat.
In Andalucia, the lince iberico have in a endangered because people hunting this animals but now are so protected with the police and seprona.
But many animals are in endangered because this things and it good that people know this and think that this animals are necessary to world and it´s important that live in peace and scurity.
You have to know this and tell with other people that think that this not important

  3. Tourists are people traveling to other cities that are not theirs. The reason for traveling can be a lot like knowing a city, work issues, economic issues for business or follow your football team and see the world. Tourism has become in recent years one of the most important things to make money in countries, for example in Spain the biggest business to make money is tourism since Spain is one of the countries most visited in Europe and world. A new form of tourism is one that is getting popular in the world of the rich and that is to travel to places that are not normally travels such as Antarctica, everest or galapago islands, I think this imnecesarios these trips are already affecting the environment you are visiting, for example in the everest found along dush long tons of rich tourists traveling ali. With this type of travel only thing we get is destroying the environment and eliminate the homes of thousands of animals. This type of travel should be prohibited and people who want to go to these sites should choose another one tourist destination such as New York, London, Berlin or Rome

  4. I believe that humans should respect nature, especially in those places where still has not developed civilization, because in these places different animal species live connected through a food chain, and simply the arrival of humans to these places breaks the process and leave an imprint on these beautiful places. It's a shame, but man can alter the places and prevent nature develop freely.
It must be beautiful to enjoy the views of Antarctica with the blue water and all the ice, and seeing the animals from this zone, such as penguins and other marine animals, but we must protect the polar caps, and the presence of man, if not done carefully, can be dangerous to the environment.
Perhaps, to visit these places would be necessary to assess the impact that the presence of humans has on these sites and establish the visits so that they do in small groups and only going up to places where the impact on nature is less.
I think that questions makes Brown Bluff are important because the question arises from inside, seeing such a beautiful and unspoiled place and realizing all the damage that man can do there especially if human visits are not controlled and their impact carefully evaluated.

  5. The Antarctica is a very pristine place, as it is said in the text. The penguins are used to live peacefully there, it is their home.

In my opinion, I think people mustn’t go there to spend their holidays. People can alter the environment, cause damage to penguins and other animals, for example, polar bear and seals.
There can be different type of tourist. On the one hand, those who go there to simply visit and take photographs and picture, whereas on the other hand, those who go there with bad intentions.

In conclusion, I think that there are a lot of beautiful cities around the world with so many monuments to visit, so people could go there instead of going to the Antarctica.

I´m conscious that Antarctica could be a beautiful landscape with a curious fauna and great horizons which should be shared with thousands of tourists and also with the mediums , mainly because is an unique place in the world. However, according to the last events, talking about pollution or disturbing, is much better considering those glacial protected zones. The fact that is unique is the main reason to contaminate it, we must preserve this environment. To be personal, I want to go there and watch its beauty by myself, but I can’t enjoy it knowing that I’m disturbing. All the tourists ought to have limitations, we can also watch hundreds of documentaries and magazines related to the Antarctica and not harming this beautiful landscape.

  7. I think people can travel wherever they want, I do not think is a bad place to go as there are people who like it cold and also there are no conditions for us, noice rinks where you can ski. Although I especially cold winter do not like, I would not go to a place like this to spend much time because I would freeze, I can not stand too low temperatures so I think it would wrong on a site such. I like it's going to the beach or golf, but I also like to go once to a place where there is snow, although I would not go so far as is Antarctica.
If people support it well not deny the fact they go there although it is true that there are places with better temperature conditions for us, and if we go there would be encroaching on the animals that live in that habitat.

  8. I think that it is not good that there is tourism in the Antarctica due to the fact that it can concern the environment. The penguins must be more protected in his habitat when they reproduce. We must protect the natural places of the land to assure them in the future, nevertheless it is not possible to prohibit either that anybody should be going to the Antarctica to see the biodiversity that exists there, this way that I think that they must become small groups of persons who are going to admire occasionally the biodiversity of the Antarctica

  9. Really I don´t worried for people taht they go to see penguins in holidays, this is a thing that I don´t care.
In this world, there are more people curiosily and they wants to help than bad people and people wants to do hurt.
So that´s why when I think that the animals aren´t hurt when received visit for tourist, backwards, I think that the tourism wants to see them and they wants caress and give food them.
There are bad people that they hit the animals and destroy the enviroment where the tourist go to see the animals in a way that this kind of place, and the good people wonts to go to these places.

  10. I think that we have to respect the enviroment of this penguins and also respect them because it is a pristine enviroment, probably the last pristine place on the earth. I think that the earth is so big and there are so many things to do and we must leave alone the animals of this zone that there are not accustomed to see us and we may disturb so much the hábitat. But I also think that the differents gouvernaments of the countries have to do a campaign to educate people that this is the only habitable planet so far that we should care for it because we have already done it much harm with all the waste that we throw to the nature.

  11. In my view, is a question of balance,
In one hand tourism attracts investments and you always need money for preserve enviromment.
It is very good to that people can appreciate this wonderfull part of our planet as antarctic,
On the other hand, not controlled human presence leads to contamination or interferences with nature.
Only very limited and educated people should be allowed, then or professionals
If we have to choose it is more important nature preservation because we can always come back next year or see these amazing images in a screen taken by professionals

  12. I´m against tourism in regions where you can damage the environment, such as Antarctica, or Amazon, etc. You could organize a very sparse, controlled tourism and warning tourists of consequences as the expulsion in case of harmful practices for the place, but if this even creates danger for the site I would ban it. I´m also against tourism to poor countries where visit the population almost as if it were a zoo and without respect for their traditions and their situation. I have read in the India there are tours arranged for tourist excursions to the Ganges River to see the cremation of corpses or in Harlem on NY to see the neighborhood of blacks and Hispanics and even if we are lucky to witness a theft or an act of aggression at that time. Yesterday I heard the news that two Seville tourists overturned his canoe in the Amazon River and have drowned, I'm sorry but perhaps Amazon is not the best place for sightseeing. It is one fact more to think about the dangers of these places and that open to tourism indiscriminately would cause hazards for visitors and damage to tourist sites to improve security and tourists. These places are certainly very attractive and visit them must be wonderful but you must think to preserve the land as long as possible.

    ResponderEliminar
  13. In my opinion I think it is foolishness. It is like if you ask yourself what you will do in Amazon’s forest. Does not the human race have the opportunity to visit new places? It is like asking somebody if you can visit Sahara or South Africa where millions animal´s species live. It seems like the humans only have the chance of staying in inhabits places because if not they could destroy everything.
That is true that the humans have destroyed many animal´s habitats by their own and they have not worried about the consequences. But, think sincerely. There are a lot of beautiful places that humans must see and visit. Pristine places where nobody has ever built, it is a nature´s construction. Like I said before, I think humans can visit Antarctica and see the penguins with their breeding’s. That is true that if we want to continue visiting it, we must keep them as we found. Do not destroy or contaminate these beautiful places

    ResponderEliminar
  14. I think that is an ugly act the one that makesthe people shown in the article. People who destroys the nature is people who don´t see the beauty in it.
Tourists should visit cities prepared for tourism, engaged in it and that will not damage anything, cities like Paris, Rome, London ...
In which are worth seeing sights. I understand that tourists could get tired of always the same and want to exchange and visit natural landscapes, with respect to Antarctica have to respect the nature of the penguins and animals that live there and appreciate

  16. If we want our world continues to exist we must care for our environment and the wildlife that lives there. We must respect the place where animals live and protect them and allow them to live in freedom, without invading their space. Like we do with our forests and jungles. But this is what we should do but unfortunately we do. Man prefers to enjoy, as the text says, a holiday in an extraordinary place, and does not care if at that time the animals that live there, as in this case, the penguins are in their breeding period. This unfortunately happens, and one consequence of this invasion is that species are going to be disappearing if we do not respect their way of life. At other times are not unwelcome visits are made worse, as happens with hunting endangered animals, which is still done though governments of the countries where these animals live chasing poachers.
I think the only way to end this is raise awareness through advertisements and reports of the danger of ending our environment. I also believe that education in schools is very important because if children are educated from an early age that we are men who should care for our world, gradually get.

I disagree with these trips; there are lots of beautiful places that you can visit and not hurting animals. I would finish with all these trips and all the experiments because I support animals and I want penguins to have a home to live.

  20. What is your opinion?

Nowadays there are little places where the wildlife is not disturbed because the man has got to reach anyway in the world and dirty the environment. However, authorities are trying to save some places where the nature is wild.

Tourist all over the world are interested in having new experiences travelling to very far areas and visiting or doing extraordinary things like hunting animals in endangered species, building in prohibited areas and disturbing animals in their natural life. Although it is every day more watched because there are associations which try to protect animals and environment from pollution, air fresh and specially the man. This is the worst enemy for our world because he only thinks in himself, his benefit and he doesn’t think in the danger that he can do to the world in the future.

From the text, we can conclude that some virgin places shouldn’t be in the list to do tourism or visit because they are the only spaces where animals can live free and the land are cleaned of all type of rubbish.

  21. Antarctica is certainly deserving of protection, and countries and tour operators should be willing to impose restrictions and regulations that may be necessary to ensure that tourism does not damage the environment, if any evidence appears that suggests that such damage is occurring.
If we love Antarctica, we should do what we can at home to support initiatives to cut back carbon dioxide emissions where the bulk of those emissions occur in human population centers.
In addition, we should spend our energy fighting against activities that clearly harm the Antarctic environment . Certainly this is a practice we are likely to all be able to agree in imposing, and it is a far greater affront to the Antarctic environment than anything tourist operators do.
however, the conclusion I draw is that there is no reason to believe that Antarctic tourism is harmful to the environment. I do not believe anyone should feel guilty about wanting to visit there.

I have to say that Antarctica is an incredible destination to have a great holidays but tourism has a horrible effect on the environment so what people is doing is destroying the nature of this ecosystem. Should tourists be banned from Antarctica?

I am going to speak about if whether to visit the snow is good idea.

On the one hand, if you love animals, it is a good idea to visit the penguins, because they are beautiful and graceful animals. But you have to go to see them and enjoy them; you cannot throw things and not mess where they live; must be respected because they are a protected species.

On the other hand, is also a good idea this trip if you like snow and snowboarding. Some people prefer a holiday in the snow and not on the beach, is a different taste, but is also a good idea.
Personally, I prefer the beach, the sun and the sea, and a snack bar to drink beer and eat well. I do not like the cold, so is my best beach holiday.

In short, everywhere you go you have to take care of the environment and respect animals, because that's where they live, and especially the penguins, because they are animals that can damage (soda cans, sharp objects ...).

  24. This situation may have two options: people who think that man shouldn´t affect the atmosphere of this place, because it is demonstrated that the performance of man is very harmful to animals in the area. On the other hand, there are may people who think that we have the right to be able to look at these places, and that by doing that we don´t make anything bad for the animals. Personally, I think that it should be able to left access man in those areas where do not bother at all to the animals, because if this continues they may disappear. A measure that can be implemented is to put these animals in a zoo where people could be able to see them, but there are caretakers who take care of them.

What it should do is make travel safer and ecologically course and this is achieved by reducing visitor groups and preparing for what is going to face I personally would love to travel to Antarctica because it means to me to discover a new world and watch virtually unknown. This world is amazing this world who do not know and even uninhabitable for humans must remember this part of the planet so amazing although we think that only ice can see that there are incredible species that are adapted to the environment. So I encourage you to visit this amazing scenery but with caution and respect for the land.

  26. I love penguins are one of my favourite animals and increasingly have less, they live in very cold habitats as Antarctica, being viewed severely affected by snowmelt
This is due to the pollution we cause people. Even for a person who loves these animals, like me, very difficult to imagine going on a trip to Antarctica; because despite how beautiful the landscape may seem television documentaries or photographs, it is very hard to be as many degrees below zero.
Therefore, we can find best destinations to travel and thus left alone in their natural habitat the penguins, seals, polar bears and other animals that need this climate extinction.
But the problem is not only disturbing the animals, is also in the pollution we cause in nature. As with our vehicles and waste we are causing the melting of the poles.
I think that tourism in Antarctica should be much more limited than most trips are made should there be for the purpose of research or scientific. So you have to help care for nature and the environment.

I think it is not good to have both Antarctic tourism as it is one of the few places left in the desertico world without the presence of man, but I think you can do some hiking but with a limited number of people in times where man's presence is less harmful, the penguins must be more protected in His habitat when They reproduce, since the presence of man can that affect the pairing process and this would be a terrible mistake on our part. Participants for the tour should be drawn between stakeholders, which I think would be a scarce number of people.

Many people love the penguins and go there to see them but they might be disturbed because it is interrupting the intimacy of them and they can protect themselves.
These penguins care for their offspring themselves and preporcionan you can feed them food so why should not be fishing over there for penguins have their own food to live.

  31. I think so. Humans are on all sides of the planet and are running with it. Antarctica is an oasis of peace for several animal species and we have gone there to take their place. We think of them as well as all live in this world. Antarctica is the last place in the world where we should be, except that humans are not used to such low temperatures. We are charging us the world and we should leave this last space without any human to protect this space and its species.

  32. I do not know whether we should go on vacation to Antarctica, but I am in doubt about it because although I love summer in southern Spain with hot, the beaches and swimming pools, but sometimes here in Seville in August 40 ºC more I wish I be in Antarctica by cold, but then I regret it because if I´m bad at -5 ºC when I don´t want to imagine with temperatures of Antarctica although I go with a lot of clothes. Another reason is the animals that live in the icy desert, penguins, polar bears, seals ... because we see on TV and look pretty, and seem harmless but the reality is that these animals are very aggressive, because being in a desert without more food than themselves. I saw a documentary as a polar bear into a hole in the ice and wait next to expect when felt a seal pass put the head into the icy water and pulled to eat it and then you stop seeing this as nice and harmless white bear and see the true red beast, for the bloodstains of poor seal. In conclusion visit Antarctica can be nice but also quite dangerous

  33. I am going to write about “Preserving natural habitats” which is a very insteresting topic nowadays. I will expose different points of view and my personal opinion.
It is true that in the Antartida live many penguins and other animals. These animals need to live in a special atmosphere for them, because if not, they die. This happens also in other parts of the world, because there are many different species of animals adapted to different climates.
Pollution, technological advances, the construction of cities, etc are important factors that seriously harms animals. This may mean the extinction of some species such as in Spain, the Iberian lynx the brown bear, black stork and the "quebrantahuesos".
To finish ,I would like to write my personal opinion. I think that the society should be aware of this serious problem, because animals are part of this planet and our lives, and animals have the right to live in good condition. Turning to the text, tourists should not visit some natural places, and if they do, they should be careful of what they do there. I am very involved in this issue because I do really like animals and do not want any of them to be extincted.

Not everyone is convinced that the benefits outweigh the risks, but many take a pragmatism .
"Better to have a certain level of responsible tourism rather than one that goes unnoticed ," says Jane Rumble , Director of Polar Regions FCO .
This season, 37,000 tourists are expected in Antarctica, although 10,000 of them will not go to ground.
About half of the tourist boats , like ours, have flags of countries of the Antarctic Treaty , which legally subjected to the environmental standards of the treaty.
The other half worryingly operate outside these regulations but many are part of the International Maritime Organization is now introducing a stricter polar code and now all companies that regularly bring tourists are members of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO , for its acronym in English ) operating closely with the Antarctic Treaty System .

The truth is that we have seen so many things, that we want to see more at any costs, new things and new is still untapped. But as tourism increases, the landscape became spoiled because of the rabbish that tourist leaves everywhere they go and at the end there are no penguins living there because penguins are not stupid and they don’t like dirty places. Services are built to satisfy the needs of comfortable tourists. Well in my opinion, everything should be able to visit but respecting those who arrived first, just so we can keep beautiful places on our planet for future generations enjoy it.

  37. From my point of view, the problem is not solved by prohibitions, but rather it is a matter of education. I think that not to let people explore the landscapes for fear of spoiling them does not solve the problem. It is important to educate people to care about the planet. Not only the Antarctic will be ruined if the tourists go, it will also became ruined or damaged if from far away people do not care for the planet.
For example, the use of cars and vehicles that produce polution rise gradually deterioration of the planet, it is better to sensitize the population to use bicycles or public transportation instead of using their own cars. The use of unsuitable gases for air conditioners destroys the ozone layer, people should t use the appropriate ones although they are more expensive. The use of plastic trays for vegetables, meats, sausages, which are poorly biodegradable, mars planet. Living things, including us need to live in healthy conditions, the temperature is essential for living organisms and to keep the ice at the poles, and all these thing contribute to increase earth temperature and destroy the planet. I know that it is a golden opportunity to share the splendor of the continent and educate the world about it and a lot of people would like to visit it because it is a spectacular place. However Tourism should be banned in Antarctica because we will cause more pollution, increase global warming, introduce new diseases, sicken and kill off the animals and melt the ice. Also it is dangerous for us because bears can threatened us, it is freezing cold, completely isolated and the ice may well melt.
Antarctica is one of the last few natural stretches of the world left in the 21st century. So it is inhospitable to human life. I think that people who build hoteles there should be couraged because there a lot a lot of places around the world to visit. Finally we are going to get that all the animals who live there die and the Antartica dissaperas. One of the mind reasson is that wherever the human have arrived, have begun to degrade. 41. Visit the antartica has a good part and bad other one. The good one is that it is necessary to visit at least once in the life because everything what exists is wonderful, is a place where many tourists go, is a place where they live species on the verge of extinction, there is no vegetation but the landscape is incredible, the tourists who visit the Antarctica have to lodge at specific places because there there are no many hotels and houses. The bad part of it is that in spite of only treading on the Antarctica already there is destroyed part of his landscape, the soil is very fragile and the tourism provokes the construction and this death of many animals. In addition we by means of the pollution provoke the thaw and this way the Antarctica is destroyed. Really the people who visits the Antarctica do not do it with bad intention and and if they do it of correct form it does not put in danger to the animals. I am in favour of that these trips are done.

  42. Should tourists be banned from Antarctica? What is your opinion?.
Tourism has become in recent years one of the most important things to make money in countries, for example in Spain which is one of the countries most visited in Europe, but tourists have to be careful with environment because not all tourists are respectful with the nature. In respect to Antarctica, I think that the penguins must be more protected in his habitat when the reproduce In my opinion the tourists must have limitations, we can also watch hundreds Antarctica documentaries and magazines related to this place, for example National Geographic… and not harming this beautiful place. We must protect the natural places of the land to assure them in the future. I think the only way to end this is show reports and advertisements about the danger of ending with our environment. There are places that must be more protected.

  43. Nowadays traveling is becoming more popular and the people wants to visit different and virgin places.
First I think that nature should be conscious about how important is taking care of our world. The penguins who live in the Antarctica have their own habitat and probably if humans visit them, the habitat will be destroyed.
Pollution could modify their way of life and the way in which they interact with the other animals. In addition there environment would be transform if unconscious people visit them.
However it’s true that we should know this marvellous paradise and visit the nature creations.
That’s the reason why I think that the government may take measures in order to control this visits and the impact that humans could do.
For instance people before going to the Antarctica could do a course in which they could teach how to preserve the nature and different ways of action if they were involved in any problem.
Furthermore, the number of visits should be controlled and a guide could be with the tourist the most of the time.
In conclusion visits shouldn’t be banned but controlled. New methods to control the pollution and rubbish that tourist can cause, should be taken.

  44. I´m conscious that Antarctica could be a beautiful landscape with a curious fauna and great horizons which should be shared
with thousands of tourists and also with the mediums , mainly because is an unique place in the world.

  45. Traveling is beautiful and more if we look after our planet. Recent articles tell us about the moral debat of letting people go to visit Antarctica or not. Firstly letting people visit anyplace is not a reason of discussion, but the debat begin when visitors do not make a correct visit of this place. Antarctica is a delicated place where the pollution is getting close more and more. In my opinion, travel should be a human right where nobody should not forbid but the discussion star when travelers do not make a good use of it and instead just visit Antarctica, pollut Antarctica. Goverments should take care about this issue and controle who is going to visit it. In addiction, it is necessary to elaborate standards of protection of the place. It is the onliest place in the World where nobody has built anything and that is how should be for a long time

It must be beautiful to enjoy the views of Antarctica with the blue water and all the ice, and seeing the animals from this zone, such as penguins and other marine animals, but we must protect the polar caps, and the presence of man, if not done carefully, can be dangerous to the environment. That is true that if we want to continue visiting it, we must keep them as we found.

in my opinion it may be a great source of wealth for companies that want to bet on it and a new and different place to spend the holidays and has no comparison to any other site.
on the other hand I think that this could be detrimental to the ecosystem and the species that live there but with a little care and necessary to respect rules, everything would be fine and would become a new site to visit.

  48. SHOULD TOURIST BE BANNED FROM ANTARCTIDA?

I think penguins are a beautiful species. They have very limited conditions of life and people should understand that we should leave them in their habitat and not disturb or kill them for money. some have work to kill to get their skin for catch his neoprene . I think we should respect these animals because we believe that the world is our.

The antartida girl is becoming more because with climate change is melting ice . if we add the visits of tourists penguins go through a bad time because they are a peaceful species that live in groups.

  49. In my opinion, this should not be banned because it is amazing and totally unknown, apart from the only kind there, like penguins, polar bears and walruses. What you should do is make the trip safe and environmentally course and this is achieved by reducing visitor groups and preparing for what will face I personally would love to travel to Antarctica as it means for me to discover a new world and see virtually unknown. This world is amazing this world who do not know and even uninhabitable for humans to remember this part of the planet so amazing although we think that only the ice can see there amazing species that adapt to the environment. So I encourage you to visit this amazing landscape, but with caution and respect for the land

In my opinion, while not contaminate not mistreat animals that live there, any citizen has the right to travel there, but I see nonsense going on a trip there, Antarctica is a frozen continent where man lives not because conditions temperature, but if someone wants to travel, you can do it, but without polluting the landscape, nor disturb the animals that live there.
I think to see penguins is cheaper and easier to go to an oceanographic. There you can see them and are controlled,

I agree there are people who don't save the enviroment and they pollute but is equal so we can't ban to the people enjoy the scenery.
My solution is that they can travel to Antartica but with a watchful who would show them the scenary and that he wouldn't allow that they pollute.

  52. I have always maintained that the best way to protect natural areas is put in value, allow for orderly use and regulated to promote among the population the need to preserve it. Instill environmental awareness. Before the impact of tourists in Antarctica was not so great but now adds that people are not taking care of this world, we are polluting, for example with the hole in the ozone layer, global warming ... All us we should of awarenness the environmental impact we are having on our world and animal species that are disapear our fault. It is anticipated that will increase the number of tourists in Antarctica and the imprint of human activity are going to notice much, but negatively. We all have to think about where we live and realize that we are destroying it. I think if the impact of tourists on an Antarctic is so great, should prohibit tourism, but we are not really alone tourists are destroying what antartida, are also all polluting.

  54. In my opinion, why should not be Antarctica a new touristic space? I think that its true that we have to take care of our enviroment, but do we have it with the rest of the Earth?
Why should be a part that its basically ice protected? What about the Amazonas? Is the only place of the world where penguins can live? Indeed i think that almost anybody wanted
to go there, it'so cold all the year, sometimes there isn't night. If we decide to become Antarctica in a protected natural space, we have to think why, and we have to take
the corrects measures. We have to spend money on building some place where specialiced people could work, and other where watchmen could too. It's not only about protect
or not the enviroment, it's about economy, we are in a capitalism world, but if we can get balance between the enviroment and the tourism we will be able to do
something good. Maybe a penguins park where they could live in freedom and peace without be disturbed, but people could also see them like an Antarctica zafari.

  55. Today, tourism is one of the main source of income in the world and indispensable for some countries. But what happens when tourism jeopardizes with his presence the place visited?
Antarctica is the last great wilderness on earth, where its unique inhabitants are seals and penguins, which breed in his lines of coast every year. The majority of tourists go to Antarctica to watch this event, as well as its beautiful scenery, surrounded by rugged cliffs and floating icebergs as far as the eye can see. In the absence of native population, the influx of tourists is necessary because the funds collected are vital to preserve Antarctica. The problem is the increase of tourists every year, requiring increased control and security measures to avoid any invasive change in the habitat of Antarctica, produced by human hands.

  56. Of course travelling to Antarctica coul be fun because this country have a lot of biodiversity and it somothing tha we are not use to see. But obviously we must protect the enviroment, because if we don´t care of our planet, we will lose some specimens of animal or vegetables.
I think than the humans in general have caused a lot of problems on the earth and we have not worried about the consequences, so we must to consider if we want to preserve our biodiversity we must be carrefullier.
But it is not a cause for not travelling never, only we must have more cautions.

  57. In my opinion I think that human beings must respect nature, especially in those places where the civilization is not has developed since in these places live different species of animals, and simply the arrival of human beings in these places can influence these animals and leave an imprint on these beautiful places. Although it is not wanting man can alter the places and avoid that nature develops freely. It must be beautiful enjoy views of Antarctica with blue water and all the ice and see animals in this area, such as penguins and other marine animals, but we must protect the polar icecaps, and the presence of man, if not done with care, can be dangerous for the environment. You may visit these places would need to assess the impact that the presence of humans on these sites and establish visits so that they do in small groups and you are only going to the places where the impact on nature is less. Personally I think that we should seriously rethink care for the environment for our good.

  59. I don´t know if I would feel guilty. On the one hand as I am a photography lover I think it would be amazing the fact of visiting one of the virgin areas of the world but on the contrary what would happen if everybody thought as I do? Of course, human beings provoke an impact despite the security measures and the traits made by countries in order to preserve that place. The number of ships and flights to visit the Antarctica has increased in recent years so that place is in risk of accidents or pollutants. I am sorry but I don´t always trust on people and of course in companies which survive thanks to tourism; that area is very delicate and any impact could be critic, it is an unnecessary risk and tourism (not Scientifics and investigators) should stop

  60. My opinion is that those trips should be banned because they damage endangered areas in the world. But human beings seem to have the need of going everywhere. And also there are touristic companies, which get a lot of money from those trips. Another example are ferries, which are very polluting and the throw away all the trash in the sea. Only going for a walk to the countryside you can see a lot of littering. So, we need to protect our environment and be careful with animals because little by little humans will end with some species. Antarctica is a delicate place with a lot of worth for the rest of the planet. It maintains portions of water and it regulates it. It can help prevent global warming and keep the levels at a good point. To sum up, I think authorities have to ban this kind of tourism.

In one hand I understand that some people are not really polite and don’t care a dime about places and as a consequence they are destroying incredible places all around the world because of they lack of respect with the others
In another hand in my country tourism is an important point in the economy and moves each year tones of money and also creates lot of jobs all over the country, so it’s something necessary for us.
In conclusion, I am totally agree with the tourism all around the world always that we take in consideration that we have a beautiful world and the future of it is in our hands.

In conclusion, people should go but that is respectful manner without disturbing and no mess.
as some people who will be stained the ground and disturbing the penguins who are quietly in their habitat. why people should have guards or tourists who would control to verify that everything is correct.
In addition to hiring people who eat them and clean up any debris that may leave people go.
They also should ask for a money to tourists in order to make profits and so to protect them and care for them.
to question the author of the text is the answer from my point of view if esque but always taking care respecting the environment and the lives of these.
but I really think we should let the animals live their quiet life as they do not incordian our lives. to conclude everyone can do what you want but it's always important to look after wildlife and species

  65. In my opinion it seems wrong that man the natural habitat of this species is loaded, this species of penguins was very calm before the arrival of humans, certain that these penguins arrived much earlier. People not only we have charged penguin habitat in the Antarctic but we have charged many ecosystems around the world just to live in that place or to do business at the expense of some animals or receive or will receive money it. In the end many associations claiming to be protectors of animals are silent because they know they will pay. Then placed to criticize the bulls as they know that is a minority, but do not dare to criticize the US all contaminations that makes charging the ozone layer, only they criticize things they know other people who have not idea will support. Sure components of some of these organizations have gone and been told that everything is fine because the penguins are on the one hand and the people on the other, and that's a lie but as it happens that whatever they say they will not get anything for it remain silent, There will miss meeting up there to enjoy the scenery.
