CNNGo in Seville: Tapas, DJs and the best sunset view

Seville (CNN)"Go to the street" is a common saying in Seville, because that's where the real action lies in the capital of southern Spain's Andalusia region.
This month, CNNGo heads to the vibrant city to sample its street life -- and the meals from breakfast to late night tapas that feed its daily eating out rituals.
From its Roman origins more than 2,000 years ago to a tangle of Moorish and Christian influences, Seville has a rich history, which explains the city's layers of enchanting architecture.
Sevillianos work hard to stay true to the city's flamboyant reputation as the center of the flamenco scene.
They also take pride in enjoying slow living.
Here are five of the locations in the show:
Plaza de Espana and Maria Luisa Park
Built as the centerpiece of the Ibero-American Expo of 1929, the plaza and its impressive building stretches around a 500-meter canal crossed by four bridges.
Small boats can be rented to row around the Plaza, or visitors can hop on a horse carriage and ride through the adjoining Maria Luisa Park, the greenest area of Seville.
Plaza de Espana is also known from several Hollywood movies.
It's been used over the decades as a location for films such as "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Star Wars."

Metropol Parasol
The Metropol Parasol started as a controversial project to revitalize a parking lot at Seville's Plaza del Encarnacion and to provide a gateway into the city's northern half.
The 30-meter-high structure sits in stark contrast to the surrounding traditional buildings, towering over them like giant fungi, earning it the nickname "Las Setas" -- the mushrooms.
The Parasol acts as a welcome relief from the sun in the summer months and protects the Roman ruins underneath the building that were only discovered during excavations.
From the rooftop, there's an unrivaled 360-degree view of the city.

EME Catedral Hotel Rooftop Terrace
This five-star modern boutique hotel in the heart of the city has a rooftop bar that looks directly onto Seville's most iconic landmark -- the Cathedral, or Catedral de Sevilla.
The EME terrace is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down and enjoy a cocktail to the beats of resident DJs.

Red House Art & Food
Known as a creative art space, this cafe and performance venue is unique in Seville.
Almost everything is for sale -- from the prints on the walls to the comfy sofas where customers spread out to enjoy afternoon coffee and cake.
Products in the cafe are almost all locally produced.
It has a trendy alternative feel when the DJ arrives and a new crowd settles in for the evening.

Mamarracha Tapas Bar
One of the hottest tapas bars in town is abuzz with Sevillianos and tourists who keep coming back for the fashionable cuisine.
It has a modern yet rustic interior style with a featured garden wall.
The owners -- Argentinian Juan Manuel Garcia and his partner Andaluza Genoveva Torres Ruiz -- have worked for many international names including Gordon Ramsay in Los Angeles.

I don´t go to have tapas in general. However, I like two places that I like a lot.
The colonial´s restaurant is a good place to go with your friends a good food with a good price. You can search a lot of tips of tapas that are a lot of good and delicious. This restaurant is in the centre of Seville, near to the Constitution Avenue.
Other place to go to have tapas is the green dragon. I like it in special because it has trimmings of a lot of films that I like. The names of these tapas are very funny and are very delicious. There is a group of Celtic music the Fridays and it is very cool.
But when I always go with my friends in Nervion is the Marbella´s zone. There are a lot of bars with a lot of tips of tapas and with a good price, and it is near of my house.

  2. Seville bars.

I am going to write about the best restaurants in seville, which is a very interesting topic nowadays. I will expose different points of view and my personal opinion.
Seville is a great city. Sevilla has many typical restaurants and bars here. The food served in bars in Seville are very good, tasty and healthy, because the Mediterranean diet is one of the best there is. There are many traditional pubs in different sevilla, there are also trendy bars such as Burger King, McDonalds, Dunkins, Starbucks, etc. And designer bars and normal, as the 100 “Montaditos”. I'm not going to restaurants because they are expensive, and in a normal bar I can eat more quantity and cheaper.
I would like my personal opinión. I think that The place where most bars in the center of Seville, where a variety of different bars and also good restaurants in Triana and bars. I live in Los Bermejales, and there are many tapas bars, breakfast bars also, designer bars, and some restaurants, bars also fast food like Burger, Dominos ... I often go to a bar with my friends who is in the Alamillo, called Green Dragon, is a geek bar, I was inspired by the Lord of the Rings, this beautifully decorated, is medieval style, has very good music and sells hidromiel is the oldest alcoholic beverage that exist, drank the Vikings, Greeks, Romans ... I recommend this bar to all who like these things.

I am going to speak about where go to have tapas in Seville.
On the one hand, I like eating tapas in the middle, because it is very nice to visit the cathedral and the town hall and then take some tapas. My favorite tapas are Salmorejo, sirloin carbonara, flamenquín, potato salad, seasoned octopus ... And these covers are just one in the center.
On the other hand, another very good site, Triana. If you like to eat well and eat tapas have to go.
You can find all kinds of tapas, but especially the meat is very rich there. It is also very famous the tapa of small bird, is crispy and tasty.
In my opinion, Andalucía is best to eat tapas, but in particular, Seville is the best, for its good climate, tourism and the art we have to eat.
You wherever you go Seville, I will always be good tapas of meat or fish, and also have a fresh seafood.

  4. Seville is a city that has many tapas bars and restaurants because it is a tourist town, which every year come many foreigners and Spaniards from other cities to know our city because it is one of the most beautiful in Spain. I particularly usually go with my parents for tapas at the center of the city and the area where I live in Mairena del Aljarafe.
There is a bar-restaurant in los Remedios that much because we know how good homemade food and it has very good prices. It is called The Sierra and is in the street Virgen de Begoña. In winter have crumbs specialty, a very typical food of the people of Andalusia and Extremadura and are delicious and in summer have gazpacho that says my mother who is very good. I almost always I'll ask my favorite potato dish with egg and ham.
There are other bars in Mairena del Aljarafe to let a lot because near my house there is a large square where is the metro and has about many bars specializing in different foods.
But my favorite restaurant is San Marcos, an Italian restaurant that is in multiple sites of Seville. My parents used to take us to the one on the street Betis, but it is closed so the last time we went to one that is in Mairena del Aljarafe.

  5. From my point of view, Seville is a fantastic city to go out with your family and friends, because it has beautiful landmarks to visit and then you can go to eat delicious food in some restaurants, but before to eat in a restaurant I recommend you have tapas in the center of seville , where you can find Blanco Cerrillo and is in the street Jose de Velilla. Its specialty is the fish, in my opinion it is one of the best bar where you can have good tapas but it has a disadvantage which is the price as it is expensive but it in relationship quality price is really good. Other bar is Patio de San Eloy which is in the street San eloy and it is very famous in Seville.
If you want to have a meal more formal with your family you should go to La Raza which is in Reyes Catolicos, I usually go there when I have dinner with my grandparents and uncles. If you want to go to other restaurant you can go to San Marcos and you can choose because there are some of them in the city, in the street Betis and Cuna. So if you have the opportunity to go to some of these bars and restaurants take advantage of it because you won´t regret.

  6. Depending on the company that I go to eat, I'm going to a site or elsewhere, in Seville it is very common to go to the street for all, if I'm going to "take me a tapa" with my parents we tend to go to good and modern sites, one of our favorite places is the restaurant "la bulla" which is in the Center, as well as "la azotea", also tend to go to ''marisco emilio" or "la montanera", however if I'm going to dinner with my friends, we are looking for cheaper bars, we tend to go to "el amanecer" ''la autentica", "el Avelino", "tapas viapol", "la sureña"... places where you can take a beer and a tapa top priced... love going to dine out with my family on Thursday because we never pass the weekend in Seville and take this day to dine together, normally will each time a new place but above all are modern restaurants, since my father has downloaded an app which shows you the places more top of your city to go to dinner.

  8. One of my favorite activities is tapas with my father. When we go to the center no sun we go to a place they go from bar to bar asking the best of each. We always start one in the center near the cathedral in the street is near the cathedral where it is full of bars this site is like a store of good products that also put food in the form of cartons of sausages, cheese or sandwiches there ordered something this and a good bag of chips while we took the first chilly cruzcampo, then we will take a few sandwiches such that they put on the grill, I like that of sprinkles and then we go to a place to finish eating that already depends on the day but it is always a good one. When not in the center which I like is going to Ruperto house a bar near the hospital the sacred heart of Triana where they put birds which do not know how they do it but they serve the whole bird and is the top one I like . And forget the king of kebabs where the best kebabs, the best patatas bravas and the best fried eggplant in the world are.

  9. I can´t go to tapas usually by Seville because it is very expensive and only when I go with my parents or my uncles can do it. What I do is meet with my friends and drink some beers, what we call "go to botellota" but without tapas. The zone of tapas that I most like in Seville is the District of Arenal in the midtown near of Plaza de Toros where there are all kinds of bars, some with very elaborate new kitchen tops and others with classic products like serrano ham and manchego cheese. I also went to the area of street Felipe II where some bars there are very nice with musical environment with modern kitchen tops. Restaurant is the worse thing and I only I can afford pizzerias as Slopy Joe that I really like. My favorite food is fish and especially the fried fish and I remember once we were “Bajo Guía” in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in a restaurant called Casa Bigote and ate wonderfully, I ate a dish of puntillitas, which are a few tiny squid, and second dish urta roteña, which is a very good fish stew also take shrimp and dessert a Tocino de cielo, was a great meal. In Seville also I have eaten at Casa Robles restaurant located in the midtown next to the Cathedral where you eat sevillian classic cuisine of great quality

Is a thipycal bar to go to have tapas. This bar have the best littles sandwichs with differents thins. The bar have a lot of differents tapas too, but the best tapa that have is the little sandwhich of “pringá”.

    The Abades Triana:

For me the Spanish restaurant that I love Is the “Abades Triana”, where is situated is Betis street near to the Guadalquivir river. It's the best restaurant in Seville, where you can eat the best jam, for example. Or the best fish. The Abades Triana, is one of the best restaurant that is situated in the city, because when you are eating you see the river, a little far the Gold Tower and behind the Gold Tower the Giralda, the best photo of seville when it's afternoon.

When I go to Seville to eat tapas, I usually go to the “San Eloy bar”, where you can order very delicious small sandwiches. Other bar that my boyfriend likes a lot is “El Papelón”, where the food is served in small pieces of wood.

However, as I don’t have a car and I live in Espartinas I usually go to restaurant that are near my house, such as “Aljarafe Tapas”,”El Picoteo” and “Almansa Tapas”

Normally I don´t not usually go to eat tapas because if I have to eat out with my friends we prefer to go to some restaurant of fast food like the Mac Donalds or Burger King, but when I go with my parents often we go to one that is in Triana, which is called “The white prawn” (I think), where you can eat very well and at a good price. Above all, the best there is the ham, cheese, shrimp, and fish in general.
Another place that I usually go much is one which is under my house called "The press" where they put a very good meat, above all I recommend the fillet with roquefort, is delicious. Also I usually go sometimes with my friends to "The crazy gypsy", a bar in the center where you can eat very well and you can take a couple of beers very comfortable.

I like to go much to the Center because there are a variety of bars. I like to go to the Fabiola bar to have a few beers with my friends. This bar is climbing the Cuesta del Rosario. The beers I like also in El salvador. I like going to take me a few drinks to bar Bullfighter. To take me a good wine, I'm going to bars that exist behind Plaza nueva square. Seville City Center I love but also there are other bars where I live, by the remedies. This "paka paya", "emilio", "all at one euro"...
I like to move me also for el Porvenir. By heliopolis I like the famous avelino. I like to go to the banks of the River, new york Pier.
But I think that any bar is perfect to have a good drink and enjoy day or night with good company.

  15. Dos de Mayo is my favorite place to go for very traditional Spanish food. The thing that sets this place apart from the rest is its lively atmosphere: the bartenders are loud and constantly cracking jokes, and if you make an impression, they'll remember your name every time you come back. There are no waiters here; the bartenders call your name when your food is ready to be picked up. My favorite time to go is for lunch, because there is nothing better than sitting in their large outdoor space, enjoying your tapas with a Cruzcampo in the sun. The tapas are generally €2-3 each, and despite its definitively casual ambiance, the food is simple but so flavorful in its careful preparation. The place gets crowded quickly, though; you might have to wait for some time at the bar to get a table.

  16. When I usually go to Seville's tapas with friends I usually go to the courtyard san eloy there are spectacular tapas and they are very cheap. When you're with your friends you usually go to cheap bars and having a good meal since we tend not to have much money. my favorite cover are patatas bravas that are good quality and when I was in the United States them take much less. the sirloin is also very rich and my spicy potatoes eaten perfectly. my American girl loved the 100 sandwich and it was always and is pedia the tortilla sandwich because said that she loved our dish typical Spanish.

  17. If you are a student, you do not have much money and are looking for good food that is not very expensive in Seville can find some bars work of interest you as tavern El Porvenir (there is another on the street Torneo, called the tavern of Torneo) where you can eat really good, plentiful and relatively inexpensive.
The same style, but I like most, are the Casa del Duque (behind Eduardo Dato, always full of young people) and Colonial (near the square of La Encarnación) that is really good and cheap. Then you have also recommended El Patio de San Eloy, but I think the bars that have been named before are much better in variety and quality (I prefer the former, actually).
In Tirana there are lot of bars of this type, but it is preferable to avoid Betis street and another sites that you see on the tourist street plan, because they have very high prices. In San Jacinto Street, in Triana there are some very good. Oh, and if you want to eat more elaborate tapas you can find many good bars for it in Mateos Gagos Street, behind the cathedral. And if the price is not important, go to the FLor of Toranso or Casablanca, is really great.

  18. Well, it is true that I do not usually go to have tapas in Seville. People from my age prefer going to open and crowded spaces. When Friday comes we prefer going to Lipa or Chile, located near Parque de Marialuisa, than going to have a tapa in Barrio Santa Cruz. However, when it is Saturday morning, I prefer going to Metropol Parasol or Salvador Square and have a beer with my friends. I like Salvador Square because there are many people from my age and it is too funny meeting them! There is a bar called “Soportales” which is our second home when is Holy Week. As I say, I like going to Metropol Parasol, which has a bar on the top where you can see all the views of Seville. But nowadays is difficult going to restaurants with my age. We prefer going to McDonald’s or Sureña which are cheaper. With these ages we have a low budget.

  19. Seville is the city known worldwide for his famos "tapas", around the entire city you can taste the wonderfoul dishes of food and mainly in the center where there are millions of small restaurants where you can eat a lot of different tipycal food.
You can eat different type of food at very cheap prices and delicious.
Weekends many people go for a walk and eat at the wonderful bars that the city offers, the most typical its to try differents sites and in each eat a "tapa" and something for drink.
Also the climate of our city its so good because allows you to eat a snack in the street with sun and good temperature.
I love eat in seville center for example in the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, this is one of the most tourist areas of the city and this is also reflected in his restaurants wich are always full of people eating and drinking.
Some of my favourites resturants of tapas are "Taberna Poncio" where you can sit outside or inside, "Los Coloniales" its a very cheap restaurant where you can eat really good tapas, many students go there and the service is really good too. It is advisable to go with time because normally there are a lot of people. "Pepe hillo" its another of my favourites restaurants, it is a typical tavern located behind of the maestranza where also you can eat really good dishes for a normal price.
Ultimatelly Seville is the capital of tapas where any tourist fall in love with our food.

  20. We start at the area near the Incarnation . In the Plaza de la Alfalfa 8 we find the Back room , a bar in highlighting seafood, anchovies and Sundays imperial sailor rice ( the best I've ever tasted ) . On the street corner Estrella Pajaritos , is the bar La Estrella with a variety of rich all caps.
Nearby, in Santa Catalina , is El Rinconcillo , Besides being the oldest winery in Sevilla is distinguished by its lifetime caps such as chickpeas with spinach, pavías cod or Iberian pork . It has a dining room upstairs with a more extensive menu . It's important not to be missed.

  21. When I go out with my parents we like to go to a restaurant in the Buhaira called "puerta caleta" where they put a very good black rice with aioli and an original tapa that is fried cassava as if they were chips, with three or four different sauces. Another site that we like to eat seafood is the "mara" under occidental hotel restaurant. There is also one near house called "tradicional" the owners are a married couple where homemade food is consumed such as a delicious cake eggplant, a spectacular Cantabrian anchovies and potatoes stuffed with meat and foi very good. Another site is "flores" that is on the street Reyes Catolicos where we can eat a ham, cheese and a very good chacina.
But these sites aren´t cheap, so when I go out with my friends we usually go to three Spanish sites usually they are "corner" in the neighborhood of San Bernardo, "sureña" in Puerta de Jerez and "la autentica" in las setas although in that area there is another sureña. These sites have fast food it isn´t exquisite but it is cheaper than the restaurants that we go with my parents.

  23. Where do you usually go to have tapas in Seville? Which Spànish restaurants do you go to?

To begin, in Seville there are a lot of places to have tapas, it is one of the most common things in our city. In fact, the tapa was invented in Andalucia when people, in the past, had a drink and it was covered by a tapa to prevent anything fell down into the drink. Actually it is very popular in our bars and everybody is accustomed to have it when they drink.

When I go out with my friends I usually go to have tapas in the center of the city where there are a lot of bars which offer different types of tapas: homely, sophisticate and traditional tapas. I prefer traditional tapas because they are the more similar to my home’s food and are really good.
These tapas are usually in the Alfalfa bar, the Columnas, the Azafran and the Salvador, where you can meet a lot of people enjoying the food and the environment.
However, I sometimes go to some restaurants with my family and then I have lunch or dinner another type of food. For example in San Marcos restaurant I usually have Italian food which is more elaborated than any tapa.

In conclusion, the tapa is something very well known all over the world and tourist are very happy when they taste it because it is only typical in our country.

  24. I do not normally tapas in Seville but when I usually go to the Southern, because they are very cheap tapas and co can accompany a bucket of beer also very economical. This site is great because my money fanciest week does not allow me much, because it can not cover other needs. Another place I go is often the Marbella bar, when the sun shines it is a perfect place to hang out with friends, the taas are very good and very cheap beer, which is the place to eat on a Saturday site.

Speaking of restaurants definitely the best restaurant Cossa Nostra is a oitaliano this on Calle Betis, one of the best places in Seville. It eats very well, besides the family who run it are very close and friendly.

Surely these are my favorite places in Seville for tapas or to eat.

  25. I normally do not go for tapas with friends but if I do it many times with my parents and my family. When I go out with my parents and family to eat tapas always have two options: One would stay for our area at some nearby bar eating and drinking. The other option would be to go to the downtown area of Seville and the old town to eat well and also be surrounded by good atmosphere and great monuments such as the Giralda, the tower of gold or savior square. Seville is a city with a great climate and is perfect moment to eat in a street, and you can eat on terraces in a very nice way. Another good area for tapas is the new sevilla mushrooms. It is located in the plaza of the incarnation and has many bars and going out to eat or drink.

  26. When I go out with my friends for tapas usually go to the crazy gypsy, a bar that isin the middle, on the slope of the rosary. With my family, when we went out to dinner we usually go to restaurants, I likeone that is in Triana called Victoria 8 For it is on that street, has very good wineand food too gluten, which for me is very necessary, in that restaurant we can eat everything, even fried as they make our food with special oil containing nothingthat we can not take.
These are the two places that I like to go, very different in all aspects.

  29. Tapas are a variety of small savoury Spanish dishes, often served as a snack with drinks, or with other tapas as a meal. To “tapear”, going from bar to bar for drinks and tapas, is an essential part of the social culture of Spain, especially in the south, and is something that every visitor to Spain should experience.
I like bars where people eat stand up because it is mor informal. I prefer go to a tapas bar than a restaurant.
Firstly, it is cheaper and food is homemade as the food of your grandmother. Also, tapas bar are faster and waiter are more fiendly. Sevilla is full of this type of bars, and when foreigners visit one of them, are amazed.
However I like to go to dinner with my family to a restaurant which is called Piamontesa. It is a good restaurant of Seville and I like too much their food. Also I love to eat but it is very expensive. So I go when there is a important day and my parents pay me, but my friends and I prefer go to cheaper bars of the center of Seville. We usually eat "serranito" or "ensaladilla", thypical food of the our city.
If I travel abroad, I always miss the thypical "tapas" of Sevilla.

Tapas can be practically anything from a chunk of tuna, cocktail onion and an olive skewered on a long toothpick, to piping hot meat with sauce served in a miniature clay dish - or anything in between. Tapas are served day in and day out in every bar and café in Spain. So much a part of the culture and social scene that the Spanish people invented the verb tapear which means to go and eat tapas! The bar where I usual ly go is call the tabernita which is famous for its tapas of meat which I can say that are the best ones in all the city so I really recomend It to everyone the one I usually go is in "puerta jerez" that one is new and the other one is in the "Porvenir"

For the center also can find many good restaurants , is one of the ejores areas and separate what provides good food, you also have the pleasure of dining with good views. Although I opted more for tapas bars , small and family , it never hurts to eat a big cozy restaurate .

One of my favorites is near the cathedral and you can watch “La Giralda” while you are eating. In “El Arenal” there are also lots of bars because is a very famous place in Seville and very old. In my opinion, the best place to have tapas is the center of Seville. I also go to bars in “Los Remedios”, because is my neighborhood and it is more comfortable. Also to “El Porvenir”, where my other grandparents live. My cousins go with us too.
One of my favorites Spanish restaurants is the “Abades”, which is in Triana, near my house. It is a bit expensive because it is near the river and you can watch the tower o gold and the river while you are eating.
I love staying in bars during spring in Seville because the weather is perfect.

But, special weekends and days that we want to go to eat out, we go to Sureña, 100 montaditos, Tea and Cofee or Pomodoro. This places are cheap and you eat very well.
But, If you want to drink some beer very chepear you must to go to the Provenzal. In this place the price of beer are 0,40 cent and you can drink some beer and eat tapas. This tapas are too very chepear.
If you go to eat out with your parents or your family you can go to other tipes of places. Piamontesa, San Marcos, La Mafia… all this places have very good food but is more spensive. If you want to go to a terrace you can go to the terrace of CorteInglés that is so good.
In Sevill you can go to many places that are so good and you have many restaurants and bars.

One of my favorite places is the terrace of a little bar in my barrio where there are many good tapas. My favorite tapas are Russian salad, deviled eggs, fried puntillitas, and croquetas, and in June I like to try snails.
I also like to have lunch or dinner in Sevillian restaurants. There are also many in the town, and a great number of them offer high quality meals. I usually go to restaurants where they put Spanish food like paella, gazpacho, jam, salads, etc. I like to eat good fish, one of my favorites is the grouper, but not easy to find. The variety is wide cap, and highlight some is complicated, however I will highlight the ribs with honey and spinach pie. Boasts an Andalusia cuisine with modernist touches. The value is good and extensive wine list my father has already tried most hehe. Next to the bar is the restaurant of the same name, a place to eat in more serious plan. Okay, a bit pricey, but worth it because the tops are rich beyond the bar is very well located and the ride is very nice also is a good place to go with friends who do not know the city or the Andalusia cuisine with a modern twist I usually go a lot with my parents and brother and always ate great, there my whole family celebrated my confirmation as it was near the cathedral of Seville, do not forget to try the ribs with honey !!

In my opinion, one of the best places that there are in the center of Seville it´s named Gorki, here there are some sandwiches and delicious “tapas”. For the neighborhood "El Porvenir" there are two bars that I love to eat: One is called Bistro L'Inspiration, where they put a cap of potato salad and parmesan cheese burrito, vegetables and delicious chicken. The other bar is called Plato Plató, where there are delicious salads. When I leave for Spain I like going to the typical markets of each city showing the typical gastronomy. My favorite place is the market "La Boqueria" of Barcelona and the market next to the Guadalquivir River of my city, Seville

The bar I think it's better to go to drink a "tapas" or eating is "Rafael" Gonzalo Segovia street, number 8. This bar is certainly very good, I recommend to eat corquetas ham, sirloin to wishky and tempura artichokes. The price of tapas is between 2.50 euros and 3 euros. I highly recommend this bar to people and when they go and test always repeat. There is another restaurant that I love, it excites me, not Spanish but for lovers of Moroccan food is perfect, it is called Al-Medina and is located on the street number San Roque 13, the decoration of the restaurant is very nice and food is incredible. Despite not being a Spanish restaurant, I recommend it as almost everyone will eat at restaurants that are not Spaniards often go to a Japanese, Chinese or Mexican. The dishes that I like in this restaurant are "moruna pastela de ave" and "cous cous de pollo". Not very expensive, plus there is now a menu offering 12 euros (Starter + Main Course + Dessert + Drink) and if you go on a Friday night there is a performance in which a girl belly dancing.
These are my two favorite restaurants although one non-Spanish food, but if you want to try other things highly recommend the Moroccan, and if you prefer Spanish food definitely recommend the "Rafael" restaurant.
